A year from now we'll all be gone
All our friends will move away
And they're going to better places
But our friends will be gone away

Nothing is as it has been
And I miss your face like Hell
And I guess it's just as well
But I miss your face like Hell

Been talking 'bout the way things change
And my family lives in a different state
And if you don't know what to make of this
Then we will not relate
So if you don't know what to make of this
Then we will not relate

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Oh rivers and roads
Oh rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers 'til I reach you

I live on an island with a small group of people, and because of the nature of our job (we work for a lodge), be it dive instructors, massage therapists or biologists, people are always coming and going. A friend of mine left today, after being here for two years. On my way from home this morning this song started playing on my phone and I couldn't believe how perfectly it fit the situation. If we are fortunate enough to have a lot of people come into our lifes and hearts, we know we will most likely have to say goodbye (or at least a "see you later") sooner or later. Knowing this doesn't make it easier, cause it always sucks to say goodbye, but it sort of helps us to try and look at it as a good thing, as something good we had, and not as something we are losing. I love this song because it makes me remember all the amazing people I've met and how happy knowing them has made me.
