I've been tryin' real hard
To realize
But somethings take a long long
Long long time (a long time)

[Chorus]
Hold the phone
Hit repeat
You got me foamin' at the knees
Saw the flame tasted sin
You burned me once again
Cut the cord, she's a creep
Aberdeen
Way back
Way back
Way back

Never saw my dark side
In, in your eyes
Back and forth bloody fingers
Paintin' up the sky
The sky

[Chorus: x2]

General Comment:I came on this website because i thought this song might be about kurt cobaine since im pretty sure he lived in Aberdeen Washington. But after reading the lyrics i think it's probably just about a girl named aberdeen.

General Comment:They say the devil is my pal, I DI A LOT OF DRUGS, the crowd will only like me if they're really fucking drunk - they think they know my thoughts, but they don't know the least, if they'd listen to the words they'd find the message that's beneath - but it goes - in one ear and right out the other..... (that's what makes the lyrics real) None of you could really understand what Aberdeen was truly about.

General Comment:Creep from Radiohead deals with the issue much better. And, the band is much better. Just my two cents, although I AM correct on this:)

General Comment:Makes a great song though, huh? Back and Forth - bloody fingers were his. She wasn't a creep. Just a freaked out girl too, from way back.

Song Meaning:You've all missed the point, but it's understandable. Butler County - KY. The guys of Cage know Aberdeen. It's a song about someone losing his virginity and taking a girls virginity in dear ole Aberdeen, KY.

Song Meaning:Soooo many people on this site make every song about drug use... just because you are a drug user doesn't mean that all music is about drugs. Sure it CAN be interpreted to be about drugs by you, the listener, but it could equally be about a series of short relationships, a long-term relationship, any number of other places called Aberdeen or even the highs and lows of life in general. None of these is explicitly supported or excluded in the lyrics but are all possible interpretations (along with many others I'm sure).

For me it evokes euphoric emotions of the soaring highs of life while alluding to the darkness and chaos of the lows. I'm not too bothered about the exact context of the lyrics, that is just how it makes me feel.

General Comment:Yeah I don't understand the Cobain thing either. I am in Aberdeen WA right this moment, born raised and at the age where I have met some very talented people in this place, and am fairly positive that one, these guys have never been here I'm pretty sure I'd know about it knowing who I know. I mean yeah, I suppose it could be about him, but I am more inclined to believe its about an Aberdeen they would be personally connected too. There are several Aberdeen's around the globe and speculation on which one they're talking about is fruitless. The joy of songs is they have personnal meaning to each person, if it makes you happy to believe its about Kurt, then do it, music is meant to bring an emotional response, so make it yours and think whatever you like because once that song is released, it belongs to everyone, not just the artist.

General Comment:Not only my favorite CTE song, but one of my favorite songs ever. I'm not ruling out any ideas behind the name, I'm sure there's a story behind it, and I could definitely suspect some possible shout-outs to the nineties bands ('Creep' was a popular lyric at the time). It seems to retain many of the paranoid/melancholy themes that many of the other songs on the album retain.

Memory:Well, as soon as i heard this song i instantly thought of a murder case we had here in Australia which occured in a town called Aberdeen (not far from where i live), and everyone refers to the story as Aberdeen.

I dont know the full story but what happened was a woman chopped up her husband and fed him to the kids.

People say, "Don't get married. Remember Aberdeen?" or "Make sure your wife is actually content, Aberdeen Aberdeen".

I even heard that some guy went in a pie shop in Aberdeen and asked for 'Husband Pie'.. haha what a legend.

Anyway, thats what i thought of.

General Comment:I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought this sounded like a pixies song. Seriously though Kurt Cobain literally has nothing to do with this song or band. Just because Kurt was born in Aberdeen how the hell does that make this song about drug use or him? I don't see the logic at all. That's like saying that every song written about New york is about Frank Sinatra and that's just fucking stupid. way to grasp at the proverbial straws kids. I'm not saying It's not about drugs though, because I'm pretty sure they have something to do with it but they aren't representing the whole metaphor either. I think it just a song about self control or lack there of.
