Do you read me, mayday
Aeronaut to base
I confess I'm a mess
No egress
Alone, hovering in space
Is there anyone out there
Why the third degree?
Never knew
Until you
How silence could be so sonorous and deep
Wherever you are
Send out a flare
This is an attempt to connect, edify and dissect
Send a light
Send repair
From surface to air
Do you hear me, mayday?
I am in search of
But I'm caught in a knot
Goes to say
So below is as above
Is there anyone out there?
I am high and dry
Suffering is a theme
But reckoning is the only reason why
We suffer at all
To send out a flare
This is an attempt to connect
Edify and dissect
Send a light
Send repair
From surface to air
Is there anyone out there?
Suffering is a theme
But reckoning is the only reason why
We suffer at all
So send out a flare
Aeronaut to base
I confess I'm a mess
No egress
Alone, hovering in space
Is there anyone out there
Why the third degree?
Never knew
Until you
How silence could be so sonorous and deep
Wherever you are
Send out a flare
This is an attempt to connect, edify and dissect
Send a light
Send repair
From surface to air
Do you hear me, mayday?
I am in search of
But I'm caught in a knot
Goes to say
So below is as above
Is there anyone out there?
I am high and dry
Suffering is a theme
But reckoning is the only reason why
We suffer at all
To send out a flare
This is an attempt to connect
Edify and dissect
Send a light
Send repair
From surface to air
Is there anyone out there?
Suffering is a theme
But reckoning is the only reason why
We suffer at all
So send out a flare

This song is about calling out to world "Is there anyone out there?" Is there anybody out there who's like me? Is there anybody who will like me? I don't want to be alone anymore!
I just listened to it twice and I'd say "suffering is a thing".
Freaking great song though. Incubus have still got it. What a chill song, but so powerful, too. And they still manage to make things new and fresh and interesting while creating music that is still quintessentially Incubus. Few other bands have that ability.
