    You are probably trolling but...

If you've ever lived in an apartment you know this all too well. It's late at night and you hear rhythmic thumping from someone that's put an expensive sound system in their car. boom, badoom-boom, boom, badoom-boom, bass

Sub-bass energy is popular in dance music and dub reggae, where the low frequencies involve energy from the kick drum, the bass guitar and electronic synthesizers. Other genres such as dubstep or drum and bass often feature the whole bass-line reproduced in sub-bass frequencies. Much experimental music uses sub-bass, in particular drone music, where the majority of the sound can often be in the sub-bass range. Often, hip hop and rap songs feature much sub-bass. Songs like this, that make liberal use of sub-bass are generally given the term of "bass song."

As for the "pelican fly" phrase, Urban Dictionary has this:

When you are completely wasted/high stoned to the point of totally losing it. Can only really reach "pelican fly" on cocaine, amphetamines. E, LSD. But some people can reach it on marijuana. Origins from the film "Scarface." Al Paccino is sitting in a bath watching TV and sees a pair of flamingoes flying and says : "Hey Manny look at it .. Pelican fly come on pelican." Man I smoked some really strong weed and was "pelican fly."

..So maybe that's what she's trying to express.

Slicker than the guy with the thing on his eye = Slick Rick

...the rest should add up now.

Pretty standard mainstream stuff. Attraction to cocaine dealers, automatically spreading legs, yep.

    My Interpretation

This song is definitely about Hitler. Whether it's admiration or fear is debatable. Look here: "This one is for the boys with the boomin' system" Already, we see a reference to his effective economic plan for Germany, which she seems to admire. "Top down, AC, with the coolin' system" But she turns around with this, which comments on the comfort he provided himself while ordering... "When he come up in the club, he be blazin' up" ...that's correct, the Holocaust. "Blazing up" being the burning of bodies. "Stacks on deck like he savin' up" Stacks of corpses in mass graves. A pretty clear one. "And he ill, he real, he might got a deal" This is one of those lines wherein lies either admiration or fear. "Ill" has become something of a slang term for something perceived as enjoyable, "cool". being "real" is also something to be respected. "he might got a deal" has disturbing grammar for a reason. The line and grammar both represent her indecision and confusion about admiring him or not. "...he got the right kind of build" Hitler was popular with the help of his charisma, charm and look. Or, "the right kind of build." "He cold, he dope, he might sell coke" This line may represent her resentment of admiring someone who may be less than reputable. "He always in the air, but he never fly coach He a muthaf***in' trip, trip, sailor of the ship, ship" She is praising his military work in these lines.

The entire chorus is her either describing her inability to hold back her love, or her fear of the surrounding war, hence the onomatopoeia.

"This one is for the boys in the Polos Entrepreneur niggas, and the moguls He could ball with the crew, he could solo But I think I like him better when he dolo" She shows appreciation for the SS and Hitler together and separate. I don't have a scrotehair of an idea what "dolo" means.

Can someone please tell me what this all means? What is a Pelican Fly? I understand pelicans can fly, but that's not likely what they're referencing and as far as the name, Super Bass? What does this song have to do with bass? They're not referencing any fish, or the bass guitar instrument and I highly doubt bass has any significant instrumental portion to this song... or what they pass off as a song. This is a terrible song... I much prefer Rebecca Black.

    My Opinion

I always feel this song is a love song. Yes, there's all the shallow sounding lyrics about guys with lots of money and expensive cars. But the way I see it, she's talking about a particular, shy and clever fellow that she's in love with because they are compatible. The 'Super bass' (to me) is the heartbeat you get when in love. The whole second lyric, to me, is her saying that, although she has guys after her all the time, trying really hard and 'putting the mack on', she prefers the guy she's with.

    It's Love, rap-style.

Personaly, I don't like this type of music, but it's not the sound nor her voice that bugs me. It's just the musicvideo. Always talking about that us women shouldn't be seen as sexobjects and all I can see in her musicvideo is boobs and unbuttoned shorts. Also, that every single man in that musicvideo has these extreme abs, which kind of looks like brains sticking out of their stomaches.

I kind of hate the musicvideo. Just my opinion.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
