I'm up in the woods,
I'm down on my mind,
I'm building a still
To slow down time.

I'm up in the woods,
I'm down on my mind,
I'm building a still
To slow down the time.

I'm up in the woods,
I'm down on my line,
I'm building a still,
Down the time ooh

I'm lost in the world,
I'm down on my line,
I'm new in the city,
And I'm down for the night,
Down for the night,
Said shes down for the night.

I'm lost in the world,
I'm down on my line,
I'm new in the city,
But I'm down for the night,
Down for the night, down for the night.

Your my devil, your my angel
Your my heaven, your my hell,
You're my now, you're my forever,
You're my freedom, your my jail,
You're my lies, your my truth,
You're my war, you're my truce
Your my questions, your my proof
Your my stress your masseuse
Mama say mama say mama gos-an
Lost in this plastic light,
Let's break out of this fake ass party,
Turn this into a classic night,
If we die in each others arms,
Still get laid in that afterlife,
If we die in each others arms,
Still get laid yea

I'm up in the woods
(Run from the lights, run from the night
Run for your life
I'm new in the city,
And I'm down for the night,
Down for the night, down for the night)

I'm lost in the world,
I'm down on my line,
I'm new in the city,
And I'm down for the night,
Down for the night, down for the night.
Ya oh wow
Ya oh wow
Ya oh wow
Ya oh wow
Ya oh wow
Who will survive in America?
Who will survive in America?
Who will survive in America?
Who will survive in America?

I'm lost in the world,
I'm down on my line,
I'm new in the city,
But I'm down for the night,
Down for the night, down for the night.

I'm lost in the world,
I'm down on my line,
I'm new in the city,
But I'm down for the night,
Down for the night, down for the night.

Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Whoa whoa whoa
Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Whoa whoa
Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Whoa whoa whoa
Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Hey oh wow oh
Whoa whoa whoa

General Comment:God, I just love how the huge tribal drums come in at the end of the song with the voices from POWER coming back and tying up the whole album together, and then going right into Gil-Scott Heron's poem. It gives me goosebumps everytime. Makes me want to hit replay and start the whole album over again.

General Comment:LMAO...all this talk of history with regard to the song. West is an idiot. Do ya really think the song is that deep? He probably can't (and won't) tie his own friggin' shoes so I doubt this song is about anything more than being "down" and staying home drinking 'cause things are rough at the moment. And if West could even come up with THAT it would be a friggin' miracle. Corny lyrics...overuse of auto-tune...and off key in his songs OFTEN. Toss in his charm; intelligence; and fake philanthropy and this guys's a real piece of work. Did I say work? I meant crap.

General Comment:someone being the world to a man and that he will break out of the twisted society and if the society consumes and kills him its ok, cause in heaven everything will be great and real.

Lyric Correction:The line "our open ended vagina" should be "our often-entered vagina". Makes a lot more sense for a vagina to be often-entered as opposed to open-ended :)

Fantastic end to a fantastic album.

    Lyric Correction:The correct lyrics are:

'I'm building a sill to slow down the time.'

General Comment:America was a bastard: the illegitimate daughter of the mother country, whose legs were then spread around the world; and a rapist known as freedom - free doom.

I'd add in that punctuation. Makes a lot more sense then.

General Comment:The way this song progresses is perfect. When the beat comes in for the first time, the verse, the 'Run from the lights, run from the night, run for your life' bit, when Gil Scott-Heron turns up. Amazing.

General Comment:I can't even get over how much I love this song

“That was the last song on the album and emotionally it just fit the crescendo of everything that I was saying and what I wanted to say to this girl,” West told MTV News. “And it’s also my favorite eight bars that I’ve ever written in my life. I think it’s one of the greatest pieces of writing, that verse: ‘You’re my devil, you’re my angel/ You’re my heaven, you’re my hell/ You’re my now, you’re my forever/ You’re my freedom, you’re my jail/ You’re my lies, you’re my proof/ You’re my war, you’re my truce,’ and the last line is, ‘You’re my stress, you’re my masseuse.’ “
