Made a wrong turn, once or twice
Dug my way out, blood and fire
Bad decisions, that's alright
Welcome to my silly life

Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood
Miss, no way it's all good, it didn't slow me down
Mistaken, always second guessing
Underestimated, look, I'm still around

Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than, Fuckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel
Like you're nothing you're fuckin' perfect to me

You're so mean when you talk
About yourself, you are wrong
Change the voices in your head
Make them like you instead

So complicated, look how big you'll make it
Filled with so much hatred, such a tired game
It's enough, I've done all I can think of
Chased down all my demons, see you do the same

Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than, fuckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel
Like you're nothing, you're fuckin' perfect to me

The whole world is scared so I swallow the fear
The only thing I should be drinking is an ice cold beer
So cool in lying and we try, try, try
But we try too hard, it's a waste of my time

Done looking for the critics 'cause they're everywhere
They don't like my jeans, they don't get my hair
Change ourselves and we do it all the time
Why do we do that? Why do I do that? Why do I do that?

Yaa, pretty, pretty
please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than, less than perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel
Like you're nothing, you are perfect to me
You are perfect to me

You're perfect, you're perfect to me
Pretty, pretty please if you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than, less than perfect
Pretty, pretty please if you ever, ever feel
Like you're nothing, you are fucking perfect to me

This song is... beautiful. I literally cried listening to it because it made me think of me, and so many of my friends that are so critical of themselves.

I have one friend, especially. I think she's the most beautiful girl in the world. She's sweet, beautiful, and even though she fucks up sometimes just like all of us do, I think she's perfect... Yet, she puts herself down so much that I just want to shake her and switch views with her even for just a day so that she can see her how I see her and see how 'fucking perfect' she is..

Pink is a brilliant and perfect woman herself. Everyone is perfect, in their own way... Everyone needs to see their own beauty

(Yet, as I preach this, I still see myself way less them perfect. I'm not beautiful enough, I'm not nice enough, I'm not popular enough, I'm not skinny enough... I guess it's easier said than done..)

Pink's song is anti-depression and cutting. At one part in the song she say's done waiting for the critics because there everywhere. What Pink is saying here is that she's done changing herself to be perfect for the critics, because shes perfect to herself. She also says change the voices in your head... make them like you. She is saying have more self-estem because it doesn't matter who doesn't like you it only matters that you like you. Pink also says that the world is scared so she swallows the fear; the world is scared that no one likes how they look. She also says the only thing she should be drinking is an ice cold beer, as that is what SHE likes not what other people like. Pink says we try to hard to be perfect when we already are. I think about the chrous "dont you ever feel like your less than fuckin perfect, if you ever feel like your less than fuckin' perfect your fuckin' perfect to me." Pink is saying that we are all F**CKIN PERFECT TO HER. If any of you think you less that perfect, THATS NOT TRUE, your perfect the way you are.

To me this song is pretty straightforward. Self-doubt can greatly hinder one's success, but self-loathing can be deadly.

I have always liked Pink, but didn't consider myself a fan until I heard this song. By the end of my first listen, I became one. It's a great emotional pick-me-up. This song did for my self-esteem what spinach did for Popeye. It's a song that anyone with a soul can relate to. She's talking about me, you, friends, family, lost loved ones...

I was having a conversation with a friend recently about artists who use the music video to enhance a song's meaning. This one came up. There are videos that feature artists in random locations, loaded with special fx, choreography etc, (a good way to promote the track, don't get me wrong) then you have videos that actually tell a story and bring the song's meaning to a new level. I think this one is a great example. When I saw the video it gave me goosebumps. I have genuine gratitude for it.

This, I feel she is addressing to her husband Carey. The beginning verse talks about the mistakes she's made in the past with him ( during the separation ) and that it was hard to go through and recover from. " dug my way out, blood and fire ".

The chorus is pretty self-explanitory, that he ( Carey ) is too critical of himself or puts the blame on himself for a lot of things. She's reassuring him that he really is, fuckin perfect for her.

In the verse that starts with: "You're fuckin' perfect to me The world stares while I swallow the fear" I THINK ( not sure ) she is referring to herself trying to hide negative emotions.

The song as a whole reminds me of something she said during an interview; " you took my heart and made it bigger. " [ about Carey ]

One of my favorites of her's, but that doesn't say too much because I'm absolutely in love with everything she creates ;P

uh...why aren't the lyrics showing up? i heard this song on glee and it was really cute. dropping the f-bomb in the title isn't appropriate though.

If I could describe my life into a song title, "Fuckin' Perfect" fits to what is happening in my entire life. This song became my personal soundtrack due to its powerful emotion that everyone can relate to and some of us hides. "Don't you ever feel like you're less than, fuckin perfect?" is just like falling in love to someone that nearly kills you and yet you still have the power of holding on. The music video of this song shows a story of a strong woman and how she face everything that happen to her despite of negativity. I love this song really. It's so phenomenal and never gets old.

I'm in love with this song. I thinbk that when people put themselves down and make bad decissions that they are still perfect and nothing can bring them down and they should bring themselves down

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
