Running with the streetlights,
Laughing in the grave
He swears he's gonna give it up, it's never gonna be enough
I just wanna be there when you're all alone, thinkin' 'bout a better day,
When you had it in your bones

This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end

I see you in the evening, sitting on your throne.
Prayin' with a fireball, and posted up against the wall
I just wanna hold you, take you by your hands and tell you that you're good enough,
And tell you that it's gonna be tough

This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
'Cause I ain't got a home

Runnin' from the streetlights
Shinin' on a grave
Once you had the good stuff, never gonna fill you up
I wanna be the one who gives them all the world
And gives em all the feelin' of it, just a little taste of it

This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
'Cause I ain't got a home
I'll forever roam, no I ain't got a home
Out there all alone
I ain't got a home
I'll forever roam
No I ain't got a home
I'll forever roam
I ain't got a home

General Comment:This song's about drugs & how they take over your soul.... but the other part is a friend or love interest telling him he has the strength to quit even when he doesnt have faith

General Comment:also, caleb wrote sex on fire while he had the shoulder injury. that's why its played so high on the neck of his guitar cuz he could only move his arm a little ways. this could be the end. the end of his addiction, the end of his life if he doesn't stop. the end of the band if he doesn't stop. there are many ends if he doesn't stop. thankfully, he did and we all will reep the benefits of that!!

General Comment:this song is about caleb and his bout with pain killers and other pills. it began with his shoulder injury and grew from there. "Laughing at the grave, He swears he's gonna give it up,
There's never gonna be enough.I just want to be there,When you're all alone,Thinking 'bout a better day,
When you had it in your bones...pain killers seep into your bones, hence the lyrical content of that and the fact that it was killing him again the grave lyrics. "I see you in the evening, Sitting on your throne. You're playing with a fireball, And posted up against the wall. I just want to hold you,Take you by your hand. And tell you that you're good enough,Tell you that it's gonna be tough." sitting on your throne, meaning he feels like a king and nothing will hurt him. the "fireball" is the pills. telling him that hes good enough and doesnt need the drugs but the withdraw and staying away is gonna be tough."Running from the streetlights,Shining on the grave. Once you had the good stuff, Never gonna fill you up. I want to be the one who, Gives them all a whirl. And gives them all a finger at it, Just a little taste of it. first off, these are not the right lyrics but close enough. once u had the good stuff- the pills, never gonna be enough, addicts want more and more. he wants people to know how he feels about them, give them my world, just a little taste of it... so that others can understand..... these lyrics are pretty heavy if u understand the true meaning of them. and no worries folks, KOL wont be breaking up any time soon. LONG LIVE THE KINGS!!!!

General Comment:i see confliction between wanting a normal life at home and being a rock star on the road. i think the person he is referring to when he says "you" is a gf or wife or whatever. i think this girl might be considering ending the relationship and thats why he says "i wanna hold you, take you by the hand, tell you that youre good enough, tell you that its gonna be tough." seems he has faith in this woman. he believes she is strong enough to handle the lifestyle and hes letting her know while explaining his need for it. at the same time.. he craves a normal lifestyle.

General Comment:For those of you fearing for the end of KOL, i wouldn't worry. From looking at the facts I doubt the song is to do with the end of the band. Considering the boys grew up travelling around with their preacher father and never settled anywhere they are well used to the road. Calab said in an interview the road was like home to him and Nathan said they couldn't be more suited to being in a rock band because they're used to life on the road! with that being said obviously some of the lyrics were connecting to the burglary of Calabs home; i think there's some underlying issues relating to drug use and i would agree with ballyhoo's 2rd verse synopsis. anyway, all in all another great song and another great album!

General Comment:For me its like addiction.the lyrics about the streetlights and the graves make me imagine the typical spot where someone would do drugs. The fireballs like the power of how dangerous it is.trying to reach out to that person who you love? "I just wana hold you and tell you that its gona be tough" like trying to get through without it. Its like hes singing to people who are lost and under the power of addiction in any shape or form.

General Comment:I think what is important about these songs is what they mean to the individual. For me this song represents the loss of someones' love. All songs are laced with metaphors some are obvious other obscure.
In the 1st verse when he talks about "giving up", "its never gonna be enough", and "when you had it in your bones" refer to a person that was special to the character in the song.
The 2nd verse covers the fireball reference ( i.e. computer) "sitting on your throne" ( bed, desk, etc) and "posting it up against the wall" can very easily be referenced to the social media sites.. If we have a page on these sites we know that we post our lives upon them good bad or ugly. The need for external approval overwhelms society now that brings in the line "tell you that your good enough".
In the 3rd verse the main character want to show the world the "us" in "we" let them see just what is shared between them.

    In my humble opinion

General Comment:I love this song and the album, it has a bit of a religous feel (To me it does) to most of the songs on it, cool.

General Comment:In an interview, Caleb said he wrote parts of this song in response to his house being broken into. They were touring in the UK and he got a call that his house was trashed and everything was stolen. They had a show that night, and at sound check, parts of this song came together. "This could be the end," and "I ain't got a home, I'll forever roam," were two of those parts. He knew he had to move from the house that he loved since people knew where he lived. The verses don't seem to fit in with that same story, but that's what the chorus and the last part are about.
