Ever since this began, I was blessed with a curse.
And for better or for worse I was born into a hearse.
I know I said my heart beats for you. I was lying girl, it beats for two.
Because I got your love and I got these vices.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you.

Ever since this began, I was blessed with a curse.
And for better or for worse I was born into a hearse.
I know I said my heart beats for you. I was lying girl.
I've been lying to you...

Everything I touch turns to stone.
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me on my own.
Everything I touch turns to stone.
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me on my own.

Take back every word I've said, ever said to you. (4x)
Because everything I touch turns to stone.
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me, I can't hold on.

Take back every word I've said, ever said to you.
Take back every word I've said, every word I've said.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you. (2x)

My Interpretation:Since the first time I listened to this song, I thought about eating disorders. Because it's something that happened to me every time I started a relationship, like if the disorders fucks everything up.
Like if you should make it stop for the sake of the relationship because it's ruining it, but you also feel like it's part of you and don't want to get rid of it.

It seems like I'm the only one who thinks like this...

My Interpretation:This whole time i have been lucky to have this curse.
For better or for not, From the beginning i knew that I would have to end
I told you i loved you. i wasn't being truthful. I love you and i love my vices.
Just forget everything i've said to you.
    (repeat)
Everything i love is cursed by me (probably an allusion to King Midas)(my greed)
So love me, but give me space.(repeat)
Just forget everything i've said to you, forget me, forget everything about me.
I can't hold on--> i cant keep on loving the both of you. its a fight between you and my vices,i don't want to hurt you. (so wrap your arms around me and leave me on my own)
I want you to love me, but forget about me
    forget everything i've told you

I think this is definitely a love song, in tragedy.
He has a problem and he thinks the only way he can solve it is by getting rid of the person he is speaking to.

General Comment:what i got out of the song at first was that he was cheating on this girl. upon the last couple times of hearing it, i take as his struggle with drugs and the trouble of keeping a relatioship alive.
i've noticed alot of people thinking the lyric
''Everything i touch turns to stone''
is in relation to drugs, or some other subject of abuse. in my opinion, it can be taken several ways, i find the best being that whoever he touches, will stay in the same place waiting for him, when he won't ever return, as time would stand still and stone is motionless, almost like that of an obsessed or extremely in love person. either that, or its just a kick ass lyric Oli thought would sond good in the song. if thats the case, Oli, you are correct

General Comment:Does anyone notice faint talking at the start of the song? It's way to static to make out, even on high volume. Anyone know why it's there, or better, what is being said?
From what I could make out, vaguely, I heard something about the compassions of man and something about Jesus sacrificing himself...but I think that's wrong.

General Comment:Heard this song today for the first time. It's fascinating. I am a lyrics hound, so lyrics matter to me. And these are definitely interesting (and I really like the song in its entirety). He believes he loves someone and he believes he loves his vices. He's a fatalist. He defeats himself before he begins, blaming his inability to either have or sustain a relationship on his vices. He believes they are a part of who he is (innate). He also appears to relish in the idea that he is "cursed," that he chooses to give in to temptation (for women; drugs; booze; cheating; whatever). He wants her to dump him now because he either fears or knows that his vices will eventually be the death of the relationship. He simply cannot hold on to the life of lies he's living so it's best to end things rather than step up to the plate and acknowledge the way of life he's chosen (and attempt to stop acting the fool:).

My Opinion:I saw these guys at the Metaltown festival, Sweden. I had never even heard of the band and I was busy with heavy drinking just like anyone else. Then all then all of a sudden this amazing intro breaks through my skull and I just froze up and in that split second I just knew I had myself a brand new favorite song. I couldn't quite hear the lyrics at the time, but now that I know them -It amazes me even more.

To me it's about decieving a trusted relationship and somehow growing on it, like a lesson learned.

"Ever since this began, I was blessed with a curse
And for better or for worse, I was born into a hearse
I know I said my heart beats for you
I was lying girl, it beats for two
'cause I got your love and I got these vices"

Born emotionally dead -the blessing, or is it a curse to walk through life without really living, loving..?
Taking comfort with these vices just to get by. Even nursing the addictions into a relationship, unable to part with them because 'he' knows of nothing else.

"I was lying girl, I've been lying to you"

"Everything I touch turns to stone (Turns to stone)
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me on my own
Everything I touch turns to stone (Turns to stone)
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me on my own"

The love magically evolves and grows to the unknown for both parties involved, then secrets that are kept from 'her' -stuff that will wound both her and the relationship significantly, are revealed and with them comes self-blame, anger and even frustration because of the unknown environment he is in. Love is a totally new battlefield to him and not knowing what to do "martyrdom" kicks in by telling her stand-up straight, admitting he was a fool: 'Yes, you caught me. I want you to love me but you can't trust me. I love your touch, your everything, but I have proven myself unworthy of your love' -while repeating over and over that she can't trust him regarding to his vices. I think that in the end, he's blessed with the curse of being alone because he can hurt no one.

My Interpretation:my interpretation of this song is this (only my, I don't think it's the only way to see this song):

"Ever since this began, I was blessed with a curse
And for better or for worse, I was born into a hearse"

he was born with what is in his way now, he regrets this
because of this, his feelings for the girl were from the begining not as true as he says
with what are you born? maybe with a interesst not only for girls but also for boys
and if you don't want this, you regret that you can't feel true love for the girl, that loves you and you try to get 'the normal way' but later you see, this doesn't work

"I know I said my heart beats for you
I was lying girl, it beats for two
'cause I got your love and I got these vices"

he got her love, and later he say, it was a lie as he says to her, that he loves her too
maybe he has tryed to give her this love back, but it doesn't work
he named her just "girl", that sounds not warm and friendly, it sounds like he said this to girls, because they are girls

"Because everything I touch turns to stone
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me
    I can't hold on"

sounds for me, as if he regrets it, and was embittered, and think it is his fault, he lied because he isn't what he tryed to be, because he is born different, without wanting it, but he can't furthermore be with the girl, that truely loves him, because he wants to be honest know, since he realized, that he can't have the same feelings

My Interpretation:i think basically hes saying that hes cursed with relationships that are doomed from the start. but in this case, hes glad that his relationship has to end. so in this case, hes "blessed with a curse". "everything i touch turns to stone, so wrap your arms around me and leave me on my own" means that his relationships are doomed, and he wants this one to be doomed also.
