I have a friend and it's an earthworm
It burrows underground deep within the soil
Sometimes when it rains it comes out
And we talk about our day

I have a friend and she's a butterfly
She flies from flower to flower drinking sweet nectar
With hundreds of friends
They sleep up in the trees at night

I have a friend and he's a dragonfly
He sweeps around all day and hovers in the air
He's colorful and wonderful
His wings are strong and powerful
He's the dragonfly

These are my friends
Even though they are bugs
They have a big role in our world
Even though they're bugs

I have a friend and it's an earthworm
I have a friend and she's a butterfly
I have a friend and he's a dragonfly
They are my friends and yeah they're all insects

General Comment:To me this song is about people. Insects is just a metaphor for people. The different insects mentioned are different types of people. the earthworm is some kind of reclusive, lazy, loner guy who he rarely sees, the butterfly is some kind of popular whore girl with hundreds of friends and having sex with many different partners. dragonfly is some kind of cool dude who's very active and popular and athletic. Then he says even though they are insects they still have a big role in our world, which is kind of him.

General Comment:This song really bothers me, because earthworms aren't insects ;)

General Comment:Silly song, wasn't actually written by Weezer though. They did it for Yo! Gabba Gabba, and if you can check out the video, you won't be sorry. Very fun song, makes you want to hear a Weezer children's album.
