You push me, I don't have the strength to
Resist or control you
So take me down
Take me down

You hurt me, but do I deserve this
You make me so nervous
Calm me down
Calm me down

Wake you up in the middle of the night to say,
I will never walk away again
I never gonna leave this bed

So come here and never leave this place
Perfection of your face
Slows me down
Slows me down
So fall down I need you to trust me
Go easy, don't rush me

Help me out why don't you help me out

Wake you up in the middle of the night to say,
I will never walk away again
I never gonna leave this bed
You say go
It isn't worth it and I say no
It isn't perfect so I stay and still
I'm never gonna leave this bed uh

Take it, take it all take all that I have
I'd give it all away just to get you back
And fake it, fake it I'll take what I can get
Knocking so loud, can you hear me yet?
Try to stay awake but you can't forget

Wake you up in the middle of the night to say,
I will never walk away again
I'm never gonna leave this bed
Oh, you say go
It isn't worth it and I say no
It isn't perfect so I stay and still
I'm never gonna leave this bed uh

Take it, take it all take all that I have
Take it, take it all take all that I have
Take it, take it all take all that I have
Take it, take it all take all that I have
Take it, take it all take all that I have
Take it, take it all take all that I have
Take it, take it all take all that I have

General Comment:Frontman Adam Levine wrote this song after a "weekend bender." He told The Sun September 17, 2010: "I was totally depleted and got home, picked up a guitar and started writing this song. It's my favourite on the record. It's the most honest. It reflects a desperate longing to have somebody in my life, which I didn't at the time."

My Interpretation:I think the song is about a guy who has previously been a bit of a cheat or a player , but now he's met someone that he wants to settle down with. He may have hurt her in the past but he's realised she's the one. Never gonna leave this bed means he's going to stay with her , he doesn't want to be in anyone else's bed. The first two lines show how he feels he cant treat her like he has treated other girls in the past as he cares too much.

General Comment:Basically a song about commitment in a relationship...

She is pushing for more of a commitment, but he is struggling internally, trying to figure out if she is the one. He loves her, but he struggles with the question of "Is she the perfect one?"... and in the first verse, that is disappointing to him, because the answer is obviously no ("take me down").

Verse 2, she does some things that he doesn't understand and don't really make sense to him... something that he expects her to know not to do... They probably have an argument at this point and finally calm down. It is obviously a roller coaster relationship, but it does have some passion to it.

Chorus - When you are tired (middle of the night) and comfortable with someone, it is easier not to analyze relationship issues... at this point he does not analyze, but just sees that he really loves her.

Verse 4, he basically is stating that she is sexy and he has forgot about the issues he has with her

Verse 5, I dont think that she has issues with who he is... and she wants him to commit... he still struggles with understanding if she is THE ONE and needs time to figure out if he can fully accept her for who she is and if the relationship is as perfect as he wishes he could have.

Chorus - basically repeat above... too tire to analyze in middle of night

6 - Relationship getting strained with the roller coaster... she is basically done emotionally, because she loves him for who he is, but he still doesn't know if she is good enough or "perfect"... and basically we have a repeat of the chorus with the final two lines.

7 - She has emotionally checked out and he would do anything to get her back...

Basically wash rinse repeat from there...

    Great song

General Comment:I think this song is about a damaged relationship. It's about two people who have somehow hurt each other spending a night together, trying to talk it through, maybe even trying to forgive.

    Good song.

    General Comment:
Never Gonna Leave This Bed by Maroon 5 appears to be a song about sex. But when taking in a deeper perspective, one can see that it is more than that. The lyrics seem to be centralized a troublesome relationship and a man persevering to keep it alive.
The lines “you push me” and “you hurt me” insinuates a controlling or abusive partner. Thus Adam says that he is “nervous” and lacks the strength to resist her control over him. He states in the chorus that he “will never walk away again.” This can be taken as him leaving before due to the woman’s behavior. Although her actions has pushed him away before, he refuses to do that again in hopes of strengthening their bond as lovers.
In the second verse, Adam attempts to convince his partner to be strong. He tells her to “never leave this place” and to stay focus on keeping their love alive. While pleading with her to stay, he compliments her beauty by saying the “perfection of [her] face slows [him] down.” These lines show that he is willing to commit himself to the relationship and only needs her. He continues by asking the woman to “trust [him]” and to “help [him] out” in the relationship. In the second verse, the woman insists on ending the relationship but Adam is unrelenting in his attempt to keep her. He further says that he would “give it all away just to get [her] back,” proving his undoubting love for her.
I have not really changed my outlook on the song. Reading the other analyses has only added to it. I always knew that this song was about a tough relationship and someone trying to keep it going. The other comments added a few things that I never thought of, such as the possibilities of unfaithfulness and the song as a whole being about sex.

General Comment:I've never liked Maroon 5 before I heard this song. I always found them overrated, overplayed, and they use too many cliches. But I must say this song really impressed me! It's quickly become one of my favorites!

Not too sure what he's singing about, but the cheery and uplifting singing, a stellar chorus that practically begs you to hum along, and the rocked out tone make me forget I've no idea what he's singing about. The song just has this really sharp hook that grabs me instantly, the kind of song I could listen to many times consecutively without getting tired of it. Awesome all the way through!

General Comment:Heard this song again today and thought I heard something different from the lyrics I was whining about earlier. So I visited the official Maroon 5 website and found the lyrics as they have them there:

Knocking so loud can you hear me yet
Try to stay away but you can't forget

Which makes a whole lot more sense to me. My faith is restored. :)

Incidently, I wonder if the line "I'm never going to leave this bed" is perhaps an allusion to the saying "you made your bed, now lie in it". Making the song a proclamation of commitment in good times or bad, as others have commented.

    General Comment:...Try to stay awake
    But you can't forget...

Okay. I'm saying this as someone who really does like the song.

But really. aarrrgggh. "Try to stay awake but you can't forget?" How does that make sense? What does that even mean? Wouldn't it make more sense to say

"try to fall asleep but you can't forget" - as in, forgetfulness would bring sleep?

Especially when paired with the following line -

    (I) Wake you up in the middle of the night to say...?

General Comment:I agree that this represents the emotional roller coaster of a relationship. Give & take.
This song is so honest and genuine and when he sings "You make me so nervous calm me down, calm me down"
I can just feel the butterfly-in-stomach feeling.
