It's how I've often felt
When I find myself on nights like these,
Like Christmas Eve
From the empty office window
To the street outside
It's everything not to call
And find out why

On the cab ride you said nothing
Just hair all in your face
I was scared to name it
And nothing changed
So, I walked until I just couldn't
Too late I understood
It was always half invented
But the other half was good

Just a little thing
Buried in the other things
Burning away, from inside
Could you be with me tonight?
There's a quiet dream
I'm not supposed to think
I know I shouldn't think
Eating away at my mind
Could you be with me tonight?

Song Meaning:im thinking he (or she considering the nature of the album) is in love with pssibly a best mate
feels that its mutual and senses it n the cab ride
then realises it not so its half invented.. only their half is real
and they shuldnt think abut it cause its there best mate.. yet they cant help but too dream bout it
im in a similar situation so this really speaks to me
awesome song bout a sucky situation.. jews speciality :)

General Comment:One correction to these lyrics. As written in the album booklet, the line is:

    "I know I shouldn't think"

    not

    "I know I shouldn't"

a small correction, but one nonetheless.
