  Song Meaning:Many people have given some fairly good impressions of what this song means. However it seems that most of gone down the REV path a little too quickly.
  
  This song was not in any way created for, or by the REV, but is a song about the loss of someone very close.
  
  As for this part:
  
  Is it something we said?
  Is it something we said to them?
  Is it something we said?
  
  It has nothing to do with God spiting the band for using vulgarities in their songs.
  
  This is a brilliant song fueled by loss, and an emotional journey. It makes sense that people would equate it to the REV, but sadly more than one person has been taken from the world long before their time.

  General Comment:This song is the only one, i think, that is similar to songs in their earliest albums. Great band, i really want to seem them live.

  My Interpretation:Not sure the band ever said the Rev wrote these lyrics... in fact, I thought I saw that Shadows said Save Me was one of the songs for which he re-wrote the lyrics after the Rev's passing. I could be wrong, of course.
  
  I'm surprised no one has said this yet, but I think the line "tonight we all die young" is definitely referring to the surviving band members each dying a little bit along with their best friend and brother.
  
  By far the best song on Nightmare, and possibly the best song Avenged has ever written.

  My Opinion:This is very well one of my favorites on the album. Avenged Sevenfold rounds out an awesome album with an amazing song with a meaning that is really strong, but this is just my opinion.
  
  Avenged Sevenfold tends to make the longer songs, but with that, for example, this song, they have different tempos and sounds, which make the songs more enjoyable to listen to, especially their longer songs. And that is pretty much what makes them, well...them. I think that the drum beats and the guitars and bass are really well done, just like any other Avenged song.
  
  As many have said before, I do believe that this song is about the passing of Jimmy, and the hardships that the entire band has gone through.

  General Comment:This song isn't about the rev, he wrote it, if you want to say songs about the rev, victim so far away, fiction and tonight the world dies are them ( The band said that he wrote it in an interview)
  
  This song is about how the rev see's the world, and devling deeper it has a very personal meaning to him.
  
  I honestly don't understand this song, and your stupid if you think there is a way to, it's something the rev wrote, and only him and people with the band will understand completly, so you make your own meaning, which is one of the great things about this song..

  General Comment:This song creeps me out almost as much as Octavarium by Dream Theater does. Just the part that says "Save me, I'm trapped in a vile wolrd where every ending is the same as every other / we're only here to die". This song is clearly about the Rev and how much they miss him. I loved his voice too, in Critical Acclaim, Little Piece of Heaven, etc. I will miss him too. He reminds me of my better days that once were.
  
  I know A7X wrote their songs to be more than just about their own band member but I think this song was entirely about him. I feel as much as them how much it hurts whn they say "Is it something we did? Is it something we did to them" and "Is it something we said? Is it something we said to them?". It's as if they feel they have said or done something to anger the "gods" that they he has to die so that they pay for their "sins".
  
  Also, it means what did we deserve to lose the one we loved? Why must we suffer for years to come without him/her? Why can't we just close our eyes (to end our lives) just like he/she did? "They say all beauty must die but I say it just moves on"... the one we love doesn't just die and disappears but he moves on to fulfill a new purpose wherever he/she is now. There is more to this than death and there is a purpose to what these people can do after they've left us.
  
  I love this song as much as So Far Away, M.I.A., and Seize The Day. They are the modern form of the epic power ballads from the 70s and 80s and they are the best band that has ever existed.

  General Comment:my fav song on the cd, very very good. maybe it is about the rev, but it seems every a7x song i read about now ppl think its about the rev and thats kinda hard to believe.
