    General Comment:A song very much about death, from the third person view. This song may very well be a reference to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven", given the song title. It may also be in reference to the very long history ravens, or rather corvids in general, hold in mythology as messengers, guides, and even death itself. Being that in most European mythology the raven and death share a close relationship, I tend to believe the latter is the majority influence. As to the particular origin, as widely seen as the raven is in old texts, only the artists know.
