On a bridge across the Severn on a Saturday night,
Susie meets the man of her dreams.
He says that he got in trouble and if she doesn't mind
He doesn't want the company
But there's something in the air
They share a look in silence and everything is understood
Susie grabs her man and puts a grip on his hand as the rain puts a tear in his eye.
She says
Don't let go
Never give up, it's such a wonderful life
Don't let go
Never give up, it's such a wonderful life
Driving through the city to the temple station,
Cries into the leather seat
And Susie knows the baby was a family man,
But the world has got him down on his knees
So she throws him at the wall and kisses burn like fire,
And suddenly he starts to believe
He takes her in his arms and he doesn't know why,
But he thinks that he begins to see
She says,
Don't let go
Never give up, it's such a wonderful life
Don't let go
Never give up, it's such a wonderful life
Don't let go
Never give up, it's such a wonderful life
Don't let go
Never give up, it's such a wonderful life
She says
Don't let go
Never give up
Don't let go
Never give up, it's such a wonderful life
Wonderful life, wonderful life, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful life
Wonderful life, wonderful life, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful life
Don't let go
Don't let go

This so gives me such determination not to give up - even though i'm not particularly suicidal at the moment!
Really sweet story about this desperate guy thinking of jumping from the bridge - but instead meeting a voracious, passionate lover instead.
I feel sad for his family, who have lost him in either scenario but happy that at least they found each other.
Susie sounds really sexy. Mmm
:-)
It aways reminds my of Richey Edwards (of Manic Street Preachers). He disappeared in 1995 and his car was found abandoned near the Severn Bridge a few weeks after. He was presumed dead, but I like to think that this song describes what happened to him instead.
(maybe they should write one about the Avonmouth bridge same things happen there!)
Should they have written 'Avon' though? The Severn crossings are a bit of a trek from Bristol (10 miles), wouldn't be the first time people have thought the river going through Bristol is the Severn...
She says "Dont let go, never give up, it's such a wonderful life.."
Great song, they are really great!!!
But the world has got him down on his knees
and also:
Her kisses burn like fire,
And suddenly he starts to believe,
And he takes her in his arms but he doesnt know why,
to me it is like love affair...one can understand it also that way....
