Yes I feel sorry for these extremely rich successful people with their awful lives. They are rather forced into it aren't they? It's a shame he can't retire, or do something else now that he has a load of money behind him, poor soul.

I agree with what this song being about how music has changed. I also think the 'airplanes' part is about the difference between real and superficial things. He's saying, you can pretend airplanes are stars and make a wish on them. If you don't know the difference, why does it matter? You can live your life (or, in his case, make music) under a mask that conceals who you are and pretend you're getting the most out of it instead of being true to yourself.
At least, that's how I see it.

When I first heard this I was like why would someone sing about airplanes? But when you really listen to B.o.B.'s raps you can tell that he really misses the days where everything wasn't just about the money and fame and stuff. Hayley is just such a good addition to the song. I think they go really good together musically.
