There's a pleasant feeling in my hand
it feels just as it should
such a pleasant feeling in my hand
it feels just as it should
such a pleasant pleasant
feeling your hand and knowing you're in pain

from the top of my head
I feel the feeling
coming down
all over me

Ultimate satisfaction
coming down
all over me

There is no better
form of relief
than that certain knowledge
you're getting what you deserve
makes my heart flutter with the spasm
of my nerves

from the top of my head
I feel the feeling
coming down
all over me

Ultimate satisfaction
coming down
all over me

I thought I was crazy...but I too think this song is about masturbation...or strangling a person.

yea ill have to agree about the masturbation thing. haha when i first heard this song i thought they said "theres a pleasant feeling in my pants" which would also make sense. but if its not about masturbation, then my next guess would have to be about heroin or some other type of strong opiate. as i have felt the exact same way as the song describes while i was on that shit

    Song Meaning

haha although masturbation did cross my mind, i don't think that's what this song is about. I think its about a person watching someone they love deeply get everything they deserve in life. It may be a parent watching their child or possibly someone who let their love go with someone else and is watching them find happiness, which in return made them happy. "There is no better form of relief than that certain knowledge you're getting what you deserve makes my heart flutter with the spasm of my nerves" then they follow with: "ultimate satisfaction coming down, all over me"

    My Interpretation

Wow, I didn't get either of the interpretations above. Here are my thoughts:

This song is a total backhanded way of wishing someone you loved well, but reveling in thier downfalls and pain. Feeling good about the when your ex (or whoever) is doing poorly off on their own.

"such a pleasant pleasant feeling your hand and knowing you're in pain" AND

"certain knowledge you're getting what you deserve makes my heart flutter with the spasm of my nerves"

Pleasant feelings knowing you're in pain? Hearts aflutter knowing someone is getting what's coming to them?

That's how I'm seeing it, really--with the tone of the song and all. A giant "Good, go fuck yourself" song, I think. Who hasn't felt that way--in a saddistic way almost?

    Song Meaning

This song is obviously about a homosexual man that has homosexual feelings but has to hide it then his homosexuality turns into homophobia. He then strangles a man that is homosexual and shows love toward him and he feels great satisfaction because he feels as if he is actually squeezing the life out of the homosexual part of himself before he gets married to a woman and has to live with his secret homosexual existence for the rest of his life. Really twisted and fucked up song. Definitely has undertones of sadism and narcissism.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
