You were all that we needed
To believe in our doubt
The hurt we allowed
We swore to believe them
And scattered across our memories found

You were all that we needed
To believe in our doubt
The worst I'm afraid
The hurt we allowed
We defied the lines enclosed
Into a great unknown to read all
The words we left out

In all we are
But you were afraid
In all we are
The one thing we can pay
In all we are
But you were afraid
Wishing one day we could be strong

It's over, it's over
It's all coming apart
While you were sleeping, we were stealing your home
It's over, it's over
It's all coming apart
Now I never let this go, I say
It's over, it's over
It's all coming apart
While you were sleeping, we were stealing your home
It's over, it's over
Coming apart
Now I never let this go, I say
It's over, it's over
(Coming apart, coming apart)
While you were sleeping, we were stealing your home
It's over, it's over
(Coming apart, coming apart)
Now I never let this go, I say
It's over, it's over
Coming apart, I know, I know, you know, you know
It's over, it's over
Coming apart (it's over, it's over)

General Comment:didn't read all the comments because there were so many but i don't understand how people can be so misinformed and state things as facts. This is absolutely a "prequel" album. Buy the book! its a prequel too lol. This song is about the black rainbow (see title) its the way the citizens of the fence felt based on the appearance of the black rainbow. Nothing to do with the writer or erica court. He wasn't even part of the story here. Claudio wrote in the writer as the only way to deal with his emotions at the time of GA:I because forcing that stuff into the actual story line would've been lame. Also the lyrics you ahve up there are really off "we were stealing your heart" is the actual lyrics I also believe at some points it says "its over little boy" but Im not sure if that was in the liner notes (thoug they are often different when the album comes out anyway with coheed) I may be entirely wrong about that last bit but the rest is pretty much common knowledge on cobaltandcalcium.com and the fact that is a prequel is, well, silly to contest because you obviosuly dind't read the novel or listen to anything claudio said since the release of NWFT

General Comment:The song is about finding someone who has the power to our world.
"to believe in OUR doubts" Meaning that Sanchez is one of the few who knows his person of great interest exists.
The doubts are the belief that religion and most of what we have learned growing up are systemic lies.

In order to find and make the individual realise and awaken was by reaching this person via music.

The end of the song has some malevolent laughing Basically if this person he is singing to has realized and know what they are has the potential to save or destroy our world.

    No matrix referrences???

General Comment:i really liked this song as the end of the album. for some reason i love the way he sings "to believe in our doubt" in the opening verse. and i love how the song goes from so solemn-sounding to the epic "wishing one day we could be strong" leading into the guitar.

    Lyric Correction:Instead of
    "We'd find the lines enclosed
Into a great unknown to read all"
    It should be
"We deffied the linesm And crossed into a great unknown To read all the words we left out."

General Comment:This song seems to me like the time when Coheed and Cambria get tired of the fighting and such and get their memories wiped. The "it's over" and the sudden silence and this being a prequel and the last song of the album and yeah.

Also, it's a very disappointing song. Lacking in epic.

General Comment:Also, it's "Now I'll never let this go...I sang." according to the lyric book.

General Comment:Someone on Cobalt provided a very interesting theory: This song is about the end of the KBI and the entire song is Coheed and Cambria having their memories erased, and I feel the song lends itself to this theory quite well. Noise just keeps on building until the sudden silence, which is the exact moment when Coheed and Cambria have their memories completely cleansed. The rest of the song seems like time is simply passing, and the sound of what seems to be work being done makes me believe that Coheed has found a job and settled down well with his family. The laughing can be interpreted as life going on peacefully until the day Mayo aproaches him outside the factory, which is the exact moment I'm thinking this song ends at.

General Comment:Claudio explicitly states that this album is a prequel to the Amory Wars Storyline.
