I am a million pieces of the sky
I found a way to be alone
I'm gonna wait until you want me
Until you finally decide to go home

Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky
Bury me, bury me
Come on, bury me alone in the light

I am, I'm gonna run just like a lion
Another way to be alone
And I will wait until you find me
Until you finally decide to go home

(Don't go home! Don't go home!)

Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky
Bury me, bury me
Come on, bury me alone in the light

I've never had a reason to take me away, yeah
I want it to be over
But I sit here and wait (x2)

I saw her smiling from the top of the world
I saw her sleeping on, amazing I know
If you lower, lower, lower me down
You lower me clearly, so come and lower me

Diamonds, diamonds are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky
Bury me, bury me

Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky
Bury me, bury me
Bury me, bury me (x2)

My Opinion:At first I thought it may have been a reference of the love of his life dying, "Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky"
And when it goes I saw her smiling from the top of the world
I saw her sleeping on, amazing I know" it sounds like she's in what some people believe to be the great beyond. However, the lines after that, make it sound like he's the one who died. So yes, I do agree with whoever thinks he killed himself and it's his battle with himself about the person.

My Opinion:I absolutely am in love with this song, When i listen to it it makes me think about someone who is depressed for whatever reason but the sky calms him and makes him feel okay.

Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky
    Bury me, bury me
Come on, bury me alone in the light

He feels like the sky is the only thing left that is just so pure and beautiful. When he is depressed everything is just so ugly and negative to him. He wants to be away from all of it and be "buried alone in the light" Like kalerbeez said, He wants to take a picture of that perfect moment when he feels surrounded by the beautiful light. I might be wrong, but This is what i would like to believe it means. <3

Is it just me or does the part, "Another way to be alone" sound like "Another way to feel old"
I could bet my life that it's that.

    Song Meaning:I GOT IT!

The song is about a boy who loved a girl that did not love him back.
Since the girl did not love him back, he killed himself.
"I am a million pieces of the sky
I found a way to be alone"

"Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky
    Bury me, bury me
Come on, bury me alone in the light"
He is talking about the experience of death he is having.

Now, he waits for her to miss and love him again, so that she will kill herself too and go off with him.
"I'm gonna wait until you want me
Until you finally decide to go home"
"I want it to be over
But I sit here and wait"

Although, he really does not want her to kill herself...
"(Don't go home! Don't go home!)"

...because she is living a beautiful life.
"I saw her smiling from the top of the world
I saw her sleeping on, amazing I know
If you lower, lower, lower me down
You lower me clearly, so come and lower me"

Song Meaning:Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky?
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky
    Bury me, bury me
Come on, bury me alone in the light

Personally I think this chorus is supposed to say lights,

i think hes asking if simplistic beauty is only in the sky, states then how its unbelievable how the sky can be so organic and real, as the stars full of nothing but purity are one with him he takes a picture to capture the one single moment of himself one with perfectness, then says "bury me alone in the light" meaning the moment is so amazing it would be worth a lifetime and wouldn't matter if life ended then,
because it was the purest moment.

I think the whole song could possibly be about a girl he was in love with who went down the wrong path in life and threw everything away and it killed him, not literally, and it made him think about life in a different way. hes going to run and keep himself buisy, until she finds the right path and her way back to reality, and him.

General Comment:This song reminds me of a thunderstorm, the diamonds being raindrops , and the lights being the lightning. He could be out In a thunderstorm trying to figure out what to do about a girl he loves.

General Comment:When I first listened to the lyrics of this song I thought they were referring to faith/religion/dying.
Diamond, diamond are you all in the sky? (diamond refers to the pearly gates/heaven)
I can't believe all of these beautiful lights (I think it's lies, pertaing that religion could be a lie)
As they surround me I will take a photograph of the sky (wants proof that there is a greater being/questioning faith)
    Bury me, bury me
Come on, bury me alone in the light (talking about death)

Now I'm with the majority here (I also now think it's lights) saying that it's about a loved one lost feeling alone but will remain strong (lion reference).
I think the song carries over to Cemetery Weather's lyrics about a girl leaving him for a selfish guy and no matter what he will always and forever love and support her until his end.

General Comment:In an altpress interview,(altpress.com/features/entry/…) they say that Brian Southall wrote the majority of this song (musically) and that Vic did the melodies for the song. So I'm not sure who the lyrics came from, but I think the chorus says "beautiful lights". If you listen close, you can definitely hear a 'T' sound. I thought it was "lies" originally too, but "lights" makes more sense with 'diamonds in the sky', anyway.

Anyway, this song is great. I think it's the best on the album, mostly because all three of them just kill the vocals. I was a bit concerned about the group having three vocalists, and whether or not they would find a way to mix all three into the blend in a way that didn't come out sounding choppy or awkward, like you can (sort of) feel in a couple other songs. But with this song, I think they did an outstanding job keeping all the vocals and melodies at an even flow with the rest of the song. Amazing track.

General Comment:i am inclined to think it is "beautiful lies" for my own interpretation of the song. I'd like to think the song is about the guys' struggle to find the right person for them in their life. They've been all across the world meeting people/girls/friends/fans that perhaps only continue to let them down, leaving them to wonder if all the "diamonds" are dead and gone in the sky.

General Comment:I think the song is about loving someone and that other person not loving you back "I'm gonna wait until you want me" & maybe at one point she did love him back but he believes it was all lies: "I can't believe all of these beautiful lies"
