I believe it's time for me to be famous,
and out of place.
I believe it's time for me to move forward,
when I break through,
when I break through,
when I break through,
when I break through.

This time I'll, make you,

Proud to see me over, come on daylight.

Proud of, who you raised.

Your shelter, your peacefulness.

So this time I'll make you proud.

Proud of, who you raised up.
You know that I will,
always be here til' the end.

Come back so I can say thank you for this,
home cooked meals and a place to rest,
my troubled head when you're away,
I've passed the test, I've earned an A,
not just in school, but in life,
you'll always be right by my side.
To help me show, hope to all,
that are lost and sick in this dying world.
I'll use the love you left behind,
I'll change their minds, I'll change their minds.

I hope, I hope you smile,
when you look down on me.
I hope you smile.

This can't, we won't know.
I hope that I make you proud.

This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love, like a boy needs his mother's side.

This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love, like a boy needs his mother's side.

This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love, like a boy needs his mother's side. Yeah.

My Opinion:I'll tell everyone a little story...
My sophomore year in high school, my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I was 15 turning 16 (around the age Austin was when he lost his mother) when she was diagnosed. I went through a lot emotionally and came to the decision to end my life. I tried to hang myself but that didn't work out too well. On March 21, 2010 I tried to shoot myself. I put my iPod on shuffle and Second & Sebring came on. This song described the pain I felt and the stress I was going through. (My mom did not die though.) It is because of this song that I'm alive today. I was seconds away from pulling the trigger and ending my life and I thank God everyday Austin wrote this song. I have the lyrics, "I hope that I make you PROUD" tattooed on my arm so I'll never forget the strength this song gave me. Thank you Austin Carlile and Of Mice & Men for writing and performing such a powerful and emotional song

Song Meaning:Second & Sebring is about Austin Carlile's mother who died when he was 17 years old of an enlarged heart valve. (Austin has a tattoo of a heart on his right arm with "Mom" written on it for this reason.) He wrote this song to describe how he was trying to move on from the grief of losing her and how he is now trying to do what would make her proud.

General Comment:This song is about Austin's mother who died in 2007 of Marfan Syndrome. She died in their family home in Sebring ct. on the corner of 2nd street, hence the name. The song is saying that she taught him so much, and although he misses her he is moving on from his grieving to do what she would want him to do, which is be successful. This song tells that his goal in life is to make his mother proud, and he is letting her know that. It's pretty obvious, actually, if you actually listen to the lyrics.

General Comment:Ya'll are right about it being about his mother and that she died of a disease but like 3 years he died of the same disease. So but at the end his voice sounds like an angels voice!!!
