Enemy of mine
Fuck you like the devil
Violent inside
Beautiful and evil
I'm a ghost
You're an angel
One that was saved
Just remains of an age

Lost in the daydream
What do you see
If you're looking for Jesus
Get on your knees

Enemy of mine
I'm just a stranger in a strange land
Running out of time
Better go go go

Angel or a demon
It came from my soul
I'm Guilty of treason
A Vatican's son

Tonight

Angels coming
Everybody run
Everybody run
You wanna live forever tonight
Gonna live forever
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight

Angels coming
Everybody run
Everybody run
You wanna live forever tonight
Gonna live forever
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight
Angels coming
Everybody run
Everybody run
You wanna live forever tonight
Gonna live forever
Tonight

Lost in the daydream
What do you see
Looking for Jesus
Get on your knees

Angel or demon
It came from my soul
I'm guilty of treason
A Vatican's son

General Comment:Another point worth noting: in the last 30 seconds (yep) of the song, there are background vocals that seem to be singing: "This far-flung case is far from over". Any idea what this could mean, or correction on these words?

My Interpretation:It's rather obvious the song has to do with religion, but people here are confusing the lyrics with a positive connotation.

He's saying that he's a "ghost", a shell of his former self. And the one he's talking to is an "angel". But he's also saying that they're one and the same; there's no difference between them.

"Lost in the daydream, what do you see?
If you're looking for Jesus, get on your knees"

Pretty much that who he's talking to is lost in their own world. He's questioning what they see. Saying that "if you're looking for Jesus", then you've got to give up your right to your soul.

He's talking to his "enemy", telling them that he's someone who doesn't belong in a place that's foreign to him.

Whether or not his enemy is an "angel" or "demon", he's telling that what happened to him. He gave up his soul. He's guilty of treason to himself and his dreams. He was the son of the Vatican; the Catholic Church and the Holy See. He bent his knee to Jesus, and in doing so, lost control of his own destiny.

The end is coming, and he's telling everybody to run, but he sounds strangely happy about it... he's going to run, but why does he have to run "away"? He's running towards the end. He's regaining his control. This is going to be his moment to shine; tonight, he's going to live forever.

The song is about him going through his own apotheosis. Taking back his soul, the sovereignty over his own destiny. It's about learning to stand on your own.

Lyric Correction:The lyrics posted are wrong. Here's a correction.

"I'll fuck you like the devil"

    "...you're an angel
    (we're) one and the same"

    "We better go, go, go"

    "I gave up my soul"

"Finally Awake" is thrown in there in the background.

    "The Ends is coming
    Everybody run
    Now we're gonna live forever"

"Here it..." is also said in the background. I imagine "comes" is also part of it, but can't make it out.

The very last line sounds like "Safe In..." but the last word I can't really make out. It sounds like "death", but has the N consonant (the soft "nnnn" sound) instead of the 'ath'. The distortion is pretty bad, so I figure it's incomprehensible.

My Opinion:I think the distorted bit at the end he is saying:

    "Crash and Burn"

General Comment:this song talks about a different kind of war: the war inside of us.
"angel or demon, it came from my soul" god and devil live inside of us. like an angel and a ghost. like one and the same. the both sides are constantly battling inside of us, and all that matters is who you'll let win in the end. with wich side you wanna play.
but in the end, when you find yourself and cure youself, no one will have to win. you need both of they, so god and devil could be in peace inside of you; "as god and the devil having sex". like a equinox, the balance.

My Interpretation:If any one of you readers were to research the occult/satanic ties with the entire entertainment industry, you wouldn't be surprised to find that most songs performed by mainstream artists are about the music industry. The term "I sold my soul to the devil," is something we all probably heard of at least once in our lifetime (especially if raised in a religious family). That term is very real in the entertainment business. Although it doesn't necessarily come in the form of satan or as an unusual spiritual vision, 'the devil' works through people.

There is a flaw in the lyrics above. He doesn't sing "It came for my soul" - What he really sings is, "I gave up my soul".

A lot of mainstream artists talk about selling their souls. This song is a perfect example. This song and also the song "Search and Destroy". After learning and researching a lot about symbolism in the entertainment business, I can't help but think that 30STM songs such as "A Beautiful Lie" and "The Kill" are also reference to the entertainment industry.

Now here's my interpretation for this song :

I think the writer is putting himself in the position of an extraterrestrial or a being with higher (and maybe darker) human intentions. Maybe it's just a human who has a higher rank genetically or spiritually. The first verse of the song is what gives me this idea. Because species tend to favor their own species against others. So if one is to fuck their enemy, they must have a different standard or rank compared to them. But after this verse the story to this song is just a message to anyone listening.

To me the message is a warning to us (the fans or listeners) that there is more to life then society's illusion. People live thinking that there is a God and a Satan while other people go around believing there is not. I think 30STM are pushing a certain religious agenda. I haven't done much research about it, but it is obviously there. Everyone needs to do their own research, and stop being misled by the people/ celebrities who inspire them. Because mainstream celebrities work as one-way messengers from the people behind the scenes to the mass. It's like a puppet show.

General Comment:The lyrics are a bit off, but it doesn't matter.

I personally think these lyrics are about a power hungry dictator. "If you're looking for Jesus, then get on your knees" - it has a double meaning, it's not simply about praying, but it's also saying that if you want to be saved then you should bow down and obey.

My Interpretation:My interpretation (I'm not saying this is the only/right interpretation...It's just how I interpreted the song)

I think it's about (if we take Jared as subject, since he wrote the song) the inner Jared and the outer Jared.
The song is obviously written by the inner Jared and he's talking(singing) about his hate/aversion towards the outer Jared. So to all the FANGIRLS out there: "Enemy of mine, I'll fuck you like the devil." Is NOT sexually intended.

"I'm a ghost, You're an angel. We're one and the same." That explains part of the inner/outer theory and is actually very profound.

"Lost in a daydream, what do you see. If your looking for Jesus, then get on your knees." I think this is directly to the outer Jared, because of all the fame/attention which is actually not real. He (outer Jared) may be worshiped, but he isn't Jesus or God and he should realize that.

"Angel or Demon" refers to outer Jared (it all looks like he's an angels, but from the inside he's killing the inner Jared)

"I'm guilty of treason. I've abandoned control." Inner Jared let outer Jared take over, so all he ever did was betray himself.

Towards the end I think it's about how the two will crash into each other, either destroying one of them or both...
