I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees
asked the lord for mercy... said, "help me if you please"
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride
no one seemed to know me, everybody passed me by
[guitar solo]
you can run, you can run, tell my friend Willie Brown
you can run, you can run, tell my friend Willie Brown
that I'm standing at the crossroads, I believe I'm sinking down
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees
asked the lord for mercy... said, "help me if you please"

Robert Johnson version, however
I did accidentally stumble across
the Cream version...Which really
sucked in comparison to my John.
Sorry Clapton! :(
heard the orginal but I love this song!
So bluesy and amazing, I only wish it
was a little longer. One of my top 3
of the album. Then again I haven't heard
the original so I have nothing to compare
it to.
