Yeah, yeah, yeah (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah (Ah yeah, yeah, yeah)
Ah yeah, yeah, yeah (Ah yeah, yeah, yeah)
Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah yeah, yeah
Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah yeah, yeah

They can say whatever, I'ma do whatever
No pain is forever, yup, you know this
Tougher than a lion, ain't no need in tryin'
I live where the sky ends, yup, you know this
Never lyin', truth teller
That Rihanna reign, just won't let up
All black on, blacked out shades
blacked out Maybach
I'ma rock this shit like fashion, as in
Goin' til they say stop
And my runway never looked so clear
But the hottest bitch in heels right here
No fear, and while you getting your cry on, I'm getting my fly on
Sincere, I see you aiming at my pedestal,
I betta let ya' know

That I, I, I, I'm so hard (So hard) ah yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard, (Too hard) that I, I, I,
I'm so hard,(So hard) ah yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard (Too hard) that I, I, I,
I'm so hard (So hard) ah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard (Too hard)
So hard, so hard, so hard, so hard

Ah yeah, yeah, yeah that Rihanna reign just won't let up
Ah yeah, yeah, yeah that Rihanna reign just won't let up
Ah yeah, yeah, yeah that Rihanna reign just won't let up
So hard, so hard, so hard, so hard

All up on it, know you wanna clone it
Ain't like me, that chick too phony
Ride this beat, beat, beat like a pony
Meet me at the top (Top, top) Gettin' loaded
Who think they test me now
Run through your town, I shut it down
Brilliant, resilient
Fan mail from 27 million
And I want it all
It's gonna take more than that, hope that ain't all you got
I need it all
The money, the fame, the cars, the clothes
I can't just let you run up on me like that (All on me like that) yeah
I see you aiming at my pedestal
So I think I gotta let ya' know

That I, I, I, I'm so hard (So hard) ah yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard, (Too hard) that I, I, I,
I'm so hard,(So hard) ah yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard (Too hard) that I, I, I,
I'm so hard (So hard) ah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard (Too hard)
So hard, so hard, so hard, so hard

Go hard or go home
Back to your residence
Soon the red dogs will give the block back to the presidents
I used to run my own block like Obama did
You ain't gotta believe me, go ask my momma then
You couldn't even come in my room, it smelled like a kilo
Looked like me and two of my boys playing casino
Trying to sell they peeping my bag they can't afford it
Tell 'em to give me back my swag, they tryin' to clone me
See my Louis tux, Louis flag, Louis frames, Louis belt
What that make me, Louis Mane?
I'm in an all white party wearin' all black
With my new black watch call it the heart attack
Cardiac arrest, cardiac a wrist
Yeah, they say they're hard
They ain't hard as this
Hard! The one word describes me, if I wasn't doin' this
You know where I be, too hard

Where dem girls talkin' trash, where dem girls talkin' trash
Where they at, where they at, where they at?
Where dem bloggers at, where dem bloggers at
Where they at, where they at, where they at?
Where your lighters at, where your lighters at
Where they at, where they at, where they at?
So hard, so hard, so hard, so hard

That I, I, I, I'm so hard yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard, that I, I, I,
I'm so hard,(So hard) yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm so hard (Too hard)
So hard, so hard,(So hard) so hard, so hard (Too hard)
That I, I, I

This is the second single from Barbadian singer Rihanna's fourth studio album, Rated R.

The-Dream, who co-wrote "Umbrella," penned a few tracks for Rated R including this number. He told MTV News: "'Hard,' I want that song to explain itself. Most of the stuff I wrote - still to this day what I write - I try to find out through people - what they're going through or what they gotta say. Then we put that in."

The song features Young Jeezy. Dream told MTV News that the American rapper delivered on his verse: "Oh, c'mon, he killed it! You know Young killed it," Dream smiled. "That's ATL right there. That's all we do."

The Dream co-produced the track with his music partner Tricky Stewart.

Rihanna explained to MTV News why she hooked up with Young Jeezy for this track. She said: "When I first heard the song, I was in Paris. Dream and Tricky, they flew out and played me the record. They played me a few [songs], but this one stuck out to me. It had such an arrogance to it, which is so far from who I am... which is part of why I wanted to do it. It was fun. It was bragging. A lot of attitude. Young Jeezy was the perfect person for the topic of the song. Just the vibe of the song. I love, love, love his verse. He added so much more to the record."

When The-Dream and Tricky Stewart first played Rihanna this song they thought it would have too much of an attitude for her tastes. However Rihanna explained to MTV News it was exactly what she had in mind. "Funny enough, when I first heard the song, we were in Paris - they flew out there to play me some songs they had done for me, some ideas. And before they played 'Hard,' they were like, 'We're gonna play you the ghetto one first, and you have to do it, you have to do it," Rihanna laughed. "They thought I wouldn't like it, and when I heard it, I just loved it. It had such an attitude and a swagger... super cocky, and just a fun song."

The song's music video was shot in Los Angeles with director Melina Matsoukas. Rihanna explained to MTV News its concept: "It's couture military. Everything is surrounded around the idea of something military. We have tanks, we have troops, we've got helicopters, we've got explosions. We've got lots of cute outfits, lots of bullets. It's crazy."

This won BET's 2010 Viewers Choice Award, at the cable television network's annual salute to R&B and hip-hop stars.

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
