In your message you said, you were goin' to bed,
But I'm not done with the night.
So I stayed up and read, but your words in my head,
Got me mixed up so I turned out the light.

And I, don't know how, to slow it down.
My mind's racing from chasing pirates.

Well the man in there swings while the silliest things,
Floppin' around in my brain.
And I try not to dream but them possible schemes,
Swim around, wanna drown me insane.

And I, don't know how, to slow it down.
Oh my mind's racing from chasing pirates.

And I, don't know how, to slow it down.
Oh my mind's racing from chasing pirates.

My mind's racin' from chasing pirates.
My mind's racin' from chasing pirates.

My Interpretation:AHHHHHHH!! This is one of my favourite songs and someone stuffs up the lyrics. "The man in there swings" is wrong. "Now an ambulance screams" is right. I know someone up further said they couldn't be bothered changing it, but I sure can. Anyway, I have OCD so the way I interpreted the song was she can't stop thinking, her thoughts are of her control (which I understand perfectly). They lead her to places she doesn't want to go and the pirates probably refer to her feeling of helplessness in the matter, having her control stolen and trying to catch an uncatchable enemy???? Meh, I like the song, so who really cares what I think?

Song Meaning:this song I think is about giving blow jobs. Your words in my head got me mixed up so I turned out the light. Words being sperm, head being a blow job, so I turned out the light she gave in fully to the exstacy of givin blow jobs. The silliest things flop around in my brain. Other songs about giving head, del amitri roll to me.

General Comment:I hate to go with the obvious.. but I feel like it COULD POSSIBLY be about her texting or talking to her boyfriend, or a guy that she is interested in, at night then he starts to end the conversation and says he's "goin' to bed" but she wants to keep talking to him. She lets him go and goes about her business till her mind takes over. She's thinking, "Now what the hell is that boy/man up to??", from the most innocent things as in getting into trouble with his friends, or the worst which is him with another woman. She doesn't want to think of such things but her brain just won't switch off. I know the feeling.

General Comment:I think she's talking about trying to find a way to get to sleep, but her imagination won't stop "chasing pirates" and thinking silly thoughts. It's a simple song for a simple topic.

General Comment:the lyrics that are written for this song are wrong, but I'm to lasy to fix them. Ok allright, this may seem rude but I know exactly what this song is about, you can argue with me all you want but your all very very wrong, trust me, I don't say this because I think I'm right all the time, 2 + 2 = 4 you can't argue that. This song is about norah jones giving head. I put my life on it, I swear to holy god chirst mother mary that is exactly what this song is about. People think that this is something norah wouldn't do, but thats the problem with men, we think that a nice cute girl can't give blow jobs, because of porn, but its wrong giving blow jobs is part of making love, but porn gives men the idea that its dirty and only whores do it, in a sense the men gets off because he likes to think that women is disrecpecting herself for his enjoyment, porn I think is the first stage to rape, I hate porn, with that said you can now not argue with me that I'm just a pervert.

"but your words(a mans cum) in my head(every one knows what head is),
got me mixed up so I turned out the light."(some women close their eyes when they blow guys and lose themselves in it.)

    "while the silliest things
flop around(a mans dick) in my brain."

My Interpretation:A briliant and insitive song that no one would have been able to come up with. She gets the principle of how mental singing is. It is probably something that happened to her and she just had to write it down. Artists are creative people. It takes a lot to share your feelings with a large crowd and then people hate it. Listen before you write.

General Comment:this song reminds me of a situation. like my friend was having a convo with her ex over the phone, cuz they were still friends, and as a joke she asked him 'd'you still love me?' and he says 'i dunno' then he said he was going to bed, and hung up and there she layed sleepless. then a few minutes later he sent her text saying 'i still love you, but you hurt me' and then she couldn't sleep at all. talk about clouding up your conscience eh. yeah she told me about it, i feel kinda bad for sharing it on here. shes such a good friend.

General Comment:This song seems a description when you're worried about what your partner is doing (knowing that he/she is a daredevil) while for any reason (maybe distance, maybe kidnapped)you can't reach him/her.

BTW I'm watching one piece and this song would fit in, sp to sanji... just an opinion.
