Forever can never be long enough for me
Feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do

Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say
Hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm

Together can never be close enough for me
Feel like I am close enough to you
You wear white and I'll wear out the words I love you
And you're beautiful
Now that the wait is over
And love and has finally shown her my way
Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm

Promise me
You'll always be
Happy by my side
I promise to
Sing to you
When all the music dies

And marry me
Today and everyday
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Marry me
Mm-hmm

General Comment:When I hear this song, I picture a cafe with sunshine streaming brightly in. The main character of the song is sitting alone at a small table by the window. I think he's probably a bit down-on-his luck and feeling a little gloomy. But then, he looks up and sees a beautiful girl sitting at the table in front of his, also alone, facing him but not looking at him. I think she's brunette (cuz I'm brunette so it's my conceited definition of beautiful ;)) and she's looking a little lonely/sad. I think she's got great big eyes, and she's looking down at he coffee, her hands wrapped tightly around the cup. He starts fantasizing about marrying her and is trying to get up the nerve to go and sit across from her and say hello. It's such a cute song, and it lets you make up a little story to go with it. :)

My Interpretation:I Proposed To My Wife At An Applebee's. I Had A Waiter Hold My Acoustic Guitar In The Back Until I Motioned For Him To Bring It To Me. After Dinner I Had Him Bring It And I Got Down On One Knee And Played The Acoustic's And Sang To Her The Song. The Entire Restaurant Fell Into Total Silence (Which Made It Extremely Awkward Even Though I Already Expected It) And When I Finished The Song My Wife Was In Complete Tears. Still Down On One Knee, I Pulled Out A Ring And Asked Her To Marry Me To Which She Instantly Said, "YES!". This Song Is Very Beautiful And Should Only Be Listened To With Your Soul Mate. It Is Truly A Romantic Experience :-)

Song Meaning:Hey all. When I first heard this song I thought, "Aw, that's sweet. It's a proposal song." And then I listened in and disected the lyrics.

If you look at the music video, the begining shows a bunch of couples telling the story of how they met. Ha, one Youtuber even put down that they thought it was an ad for eHarmony before the actual video.

Although the music videos can't always be trusted for song meanings, I really think that this one was hinting something, particularly love at first sight. Not just infatuation, but love. That moment when you look at someone and think "I want them with me, always and forever. I will never hurt them, I will protect them and I will love them... now let's see, how do I introduce myself?"

My Interpretation:I agree with matthewconte, he isn't with the girl already, he just sees her on a normal basis and just sits and imagines his life with her.

General Comment:The first time I listened to it I didn't listen to closely. Then I had it on as background noise, and I heard the line "If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe" and it caught me off guard. Its like an infatuation with someone before you even really know them, and you are already dreaming of a life with them.

General Comment:it really captures that insatiable passion that you get when you're in love with someone. the way you can never get close enough and that no amount of time will really ever give you enough of that person. His yearning voice at the chorus really makes this song come alive.

probably my favorite train song. i think this is the song that my fiance and i are going to use for our first dance. is it just me or is train getting very very very romantic in this album?
