    Song Meaning:I am sure they wanted to leave the interpretation open for their listeners... BUT the whole album 'Weathervanes' was put together based on the dreams of Judah Dadone. So this song is literally about starring in someones nightmare, in which he was quieted with a tube sock and drowned in a bath tube. Since dreams are the gateway to ones unconscious mind it is fair to say it may be about an ex or something. But the songs intention is not to be about the hypothetical ex... or whatever

    General Comment:I think this song is about stockholm syndrome, wherein someone is being held captive but comes to empathize or even play along with the delusional captor. At least it makes sense, given the lyrics.

    My Opinion:I think this song is about being in a relationship with someone generally unbearable to most, and even unbearable to the singer in the beginning. The person is only looking for love. The singer begins to see all the other person's faults as endearing.

    It's a "stranger's nightmare" but it's his dream, and he doesn't want to change, even if they're both going down. "We're going to flood this house."

    My Interpretation:yea there's no doubt that the literal interpretation of this song may be a little...graphic. but i don't think any band writes a song with something like that as the sole message. instead, i think the song is supposed to deal with something much simpler, like the feeling of being trapped in a relationship, or being involved in an overbearing one.

    and i think it's important to take the phrase "stranger's nightmare" into consideration. it intrigues me that this "nightmare" is supposed to be the "stranger's" instead of the one "starring" in it.

    My Interpretation:I believe this isn't literally about him being in someones nightmare, its more like his life is something some people have nightmares about, whether its a breakup or whatever. Hes explaining how he's experiencing something difficult.

    General Comment:this is definitely about after a breakup with his girlfriend.
    i guess the ex is bitter about the breakup, and dreams about torturing him?
    gag him with tubesocks that say "why can't we be friends?"

    i dont think he understood who she was. but he's starting to understand as he's in the nightmare.
    or something like that..

    General Comment:i just wanted to tell you that when i saw them live, they said this song was a story of him literally starring someone elses nightmare...having a tube sock shoved in his mouth so as not to scream, being drowned it the tube and clawing the tiles (flood of porcelain)....stuff like that
