Oh, my wrists are weak
But if I could lift your body
Out of a crash of the waves
Out of bed or onto me
Working too hard gets me acting like a letter
So, before you tell me you're not worth the worry
Hurry

Hurry, hurry, hurry
I like to hurry when I'm wanting you
Hurry, hurry, hurry

Make me go without a word
Get so crazy when you shut up
Wake up in a panic
Room is dark; you know this body
Could be this way with almost just any body
So put me next to the window
Put me next to the light

Hurry, hurry, hurry
I like to hurry when I'm wanting you
Hurry, hurry, hurry

Don't judge a book by the size of its wrists
(Hurry, hurry)
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry, hurry)
Don't judge a book by the size of its wrists
(Hurry, hurry)
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry)

Oh, my ego's weak
So thought if I could lift your body
And wake up out of air
The night's too short
You're onto me
Why am I always acting timid and too careful?
Please, before I tell you I'm not worth the worry
Hurry

Hurry, hurry, hurry
I like to hurry when I'm wanting you
Hurry, hurry, hurry

Oh, my wrists are weak
I carry weight like a shadow
So put me next to the window
Put me next to the light
Hurry, hurry, hurry
I like to hurry when I'm wanting you
Hurry, hurry, hurry

Don't judge a book by the size of its wrists
(Hurry, hurry)
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry, hurry)

Don't judge a book by the size of its wrists
(Hurry, hurry)
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry, hurry)
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry)
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry)

Don't judge a book by the size of its wrists
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry)
Don't judge a book by the size of its wrists
Are you undecided?
(Hurry, hurry)
Hurry, hurry, hurry

General Comment:My guess is that pehaps this song is a matter of Sara realizing how much she scrutinizes others when she has to decide if she dates them and it's gotten to the point where she won't date someone based off of the sizes of her wrists...it may also be a metaphor for the ridiculous peeves she has for the people she dates, for what she's looking for? who knows, it's my guess.

General Comment:i love this song, and I love how Sara has so many quirky songs.
I'm thinking about getting "don't judge a book by the size of its wrists"
tattoed on the inside of my left wrist. I just think it's a perfect
quote to live by. People are always judging everyone before they
even get to know them, it's so frustrating.

General Comment:heh I think this song might sound a bit sexual at first but if you really listen to it ...it's about a person (sara)that is infatuated with someone and wants to rush into a relationship but the other person isn't trying to be in a relationship.

General Comment:"dont judge a book by the size of its wrists"

i think this line is saying how not to judge her (tegan). Im thinking that tegan is the book, being filled with the many different pages and chapters of her life and how (possibly :/) her partner is judging her and judging the different things that she has gone through and is making them out to be something that is little and insignificant: "oh my egos weak" and "get so crazy when you shut up"

    maybe?? :P

General Comment:this is my extension of flyingxpony's interprtation

    "Oh my ego's weak
So thought if I could lift your body
    And wake up out of air;
    The night's too short,
    You're onto me."

A feels weak. but she still wants to save the relationship but she's outta time and options(the night's too short) to fix it. when she says "you're onto me," she's means that B is aware of A's weakness now.

    General Comment:what I'm seeing it as..she's talking about a relationship..as usual ;)
I see the wrists as just..strength.

    "Oh, my wrists are weak
But if I could lift your body-
out of a crash of the waves,
out of bed or onto me"
I see this like the speaker(A) sees that the other girl (B) is struggling. she sees a problem, a wave, about to hit her, and is hoping that she's strong enough to pull her out of it and into her protection (onto me).

"Working too hard gets me acting like a letter"
when I think of a letter I see it compared to speaking to someone in person or even on the phone..in comparison it's a little bit colder and more formal..less personal. so she's busy and working hard and is acting cold and impersonal.

"So, before you tell me you're not worth the worry"
so, compared to the way A is acting, B is worth the worry, or effort.

    "Hurry, hurry, hurry.
I like to hurry when I'm wanting you.
    Hurry, hurry, hurry."
I'm not entirely sure about this part..when I hear "wanting you" I first think of sex, but then I think of just..wanting to be with someone. I lean more towards the latter in this case. maybe she's saying that she wants to get through the problem quickly? I'm really not sure.

"Make me go without a word,
Get so crazy when you shut up."
    they're fighting, and B won't talk to A.

    "Wake up in a panic,
Room is dark - you know this body.
Could be this way with almost just any body,
    So put me next to the window;
put me next to the light."
A wakes up panicking and in the dark..both literally and metaphorically. she's been shut out by B. she acknowledges that she could be with just about anybody, but she wants it to work, so she wants B to bring her back into the light, let her back into her mind.

"Don't judge a book by the size of its wrists."
A is saying not to judge her by how strong she looks or acts, because on the inside she's a lot stronger than it appears.

    "Are you undecided?"
she's asking if B is going to open up to her and work on their problems or not.

    "Oh my ego's weak
So thought if I could lift your body
    And wake up out of air;
    The night's too short,
    You're onto me."
she's feeling weak. she still hopes to save B from the inevitable issue she's about to face, but she's growing exhausted (running out of air and not getting enough rest to regain her strength). not sure about "You're onto me.."

"Why am I always acting timid and too careful?"
A is wondering why she acts so weak and isn't fully confronting B about their issue

"Please, before I tell you I'm not worth the worry -
    Hurry."
she's starting to need B to put out more effort.

    "Oh, my wrists are weak,
I carry weight like a shadow."
she's weak and trying to carry the weight of their problems on her own in the dark- shut out from B and without actually confronting her.

sorry if my interpretation is a little bit sloppy, I'm pretty tired xD

General Comment:I think this song is about really liking someone and moving fast physically but the other person isn't into you emotionally.

General Comment:I like to hurry when I'm wanting you.

    Or

I like to hurry when I'm on you.

Actually, either way, it still makes me think about sex...
Even though it might not be about sex.
Some chick on YouTube said the song was about taking a Math class. xD

General Comment:I don't mean to be a grammar nazi, but this is driving me crazy and will continue to drive me crazy unless it's fixed xD ocd attaaaack..
the proper posessive of "it" is "its", not "it's". "it's" is the contraction of "it is", and only that. ( and if you don't believe me, just look it up in the dictionary ;) )
anyway...back to business hahaha I'm truly sorry
