jenny jenny jenny, don't be lazy
jenny jenny jenny, don't be lazy
i know it's hopeless
i know it's sad
i know you're stupid
i know it's sad
but jenny jenny jenny
jenny jenny jenny

don't be a jerk jonny
don't be so cruel to me
don't be a jerk jonny
don't be so cruel to me

it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)

everyday i ride my bike
up and down these roads
i'd see a beautiful flower
it was trampled on the ground
jenny, it makes me think of you
how you used to be and how you are now
oh jenny how you are now
oh jenny jenny jenny

don't be a jerk jonny
don't be so cruel to me
don't be a jerk jonny
don't be so cruel to me

oh it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)

you used to be so pretty
but now you're just tragic
believe in something
you're full of horseshit

you used to be so pretty
but now you're just tragic
believe in something
you're full of horseshit

you used to be so pretty
but now you're just tragic
believe in something
you're full of horseshit

you used to be so pretty
but now you're just tragic
believe in something
you're full of horseshit

oh jenny jenny jenny

and you said
don't be a jerk jonny
don't be so cruel to me
don't be a jerk jonny
don't be so cruel to me

it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)
it's out of love (no it's not)

no it's not
no it's not
no it's not
no it's not

i first assumed this was about a struggling relationship with jonny as a jerk boyfriend, but upon listening to it 1000 times, i now see it as about a protective older brother, jonny, worried about his young teenage sister who has fallen into the wrong crowd

    My Interpretation

when i saw these guys live, jonny pierce kept making a gesture to a pregnant stomach whilst singing. maybe the lyrics are indicating that a girl he is very much in love with has gotten pregnant with someone else? which could link with: 'it's out of love (no it's not)' as if to say that the baby wasn't for love, more lust?

"This next song is about a girl I really hate" He said last night onstage about this one. I think if it was about a sister he wouldn't still hate her in his 20's so it's more like an ex girlfriend and who knows, the pregnancy is a possible thing this girl had. It's about dead love to me and the flower analogy could represent her sleeping around (Flower represents virignity) oh my it could even be about his first love.

Jonny in the song is probably the lead singer Jonny pierce. I think this song is about how he's in a relationship with a girl not because he's in love with her but because he's trying to hide his sexuality and wants to leave her. In real life the lead singer is gay and this is a common method of hiding one's sexuality. However the issue is that the girl doesn't want the Jonny to leave so she says "don't be a jerk Jonny"and gets more and more desperate until Jonny says "believe in something you're full of horseshit" as a way of trying to get her to move on. Jonny starts to become bitter and dislike her because his attempts to leave her fail. Thus the line "you used to be so pretty but now you're just tragic". When someone uses the method of being in a heterosexual relationship to hide their sexuality they usually choose a person they admire. This explains why he compliments her several times despite also insulting her. Overall this song is just a situation so many closeted people get themselves into.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
