This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
I went out looking for the answers
And never left my town
I'm no good at understanding
But I'm good at standing ground
And when I asked a corner preacher
I couldn't hear him for my youth
Some people get religion
Some people get the truth
I never get the truth
I never get the truth
I know the darkness pulls on you
But it's just a point of view
When you're outside looking in
You belong to someone
And when you feel like giving in
On the coming of the end
Like your heart could break in two
Someone loves you
I lay this suitcase on my chest
So I can feel somebody's weight
And I laid you to rest
Just to feel a give and take
I got a new interpretation
And it's a better point of view
While you were looking for a landslide
I was looking out for you
I was looking out for you
Someone's looking out for you
I know the darkness pulls on you
But it's just a point of view
When you're outside looking in
You belong to someone
And when you feel like giving in
On the coming of the end
Like your heart could break in two
Someone loves you
I am afraid of crossing lines
I am afraid of flying blind
Afraid of inquiring minds
Afraid of being left behind
I close my eyes, I think of you (close my eyes)
I take a step, I think of you (take a step)
I catch my breath, I think of you (close my eyes)
I cannot rest, I think of you
My one and only wrecking ball
And you're crashing through my walls
When you're outside looking in
You belong to someone
And when you feel like giving in
On the coming of the end
Like your heart could break in two
Someone loves you, yeah
And never left my town
I'm no good at understanding
But I'm good at standing ground
And when I asked a corner preacher
I couldn't hear him for my youth
Some people get religion
Some people get the truth
I never get the truth
I never get the truth

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
look at the lyrics! they're so beautiful (:
I'm not sure that this one needs a ton of 'interpretation'. It's pretty straight-forward. Anyone else have some deep, hidden meaning in here?
I dunno, I've listend to this song a hundred times and I'm still not sure what it means.
Is she presenting religion as an "either/or" in her comment about the truth, or is she saying some people "get religion" as in the classic sense of the word ( meaning "learning from a mistake" ) and the truth being also attainable through what the preacher said?
I would think it was an either/or but then she says that she knows the "darkness pulls on you", suggesting the darkness is lack of faith or doubt. I know that religion features in a lot of Brandi's songs and her struggle with being a former Baptist, though I'm not sure what she considers herself now.

Or the darkness could be people's judgmental opinions regarding homosexuality and how she reminds the person who is suffering from those comments that it's just a point of view and not to give it too much weight. And that she has found a new interpretation in her life ( that not all Christians are so judgmental or perhaps a comment about religion in general )

She then goes on reassure the subject of the song that she is afraid of things too, and that he/she serves as an inspiration to her constantly keeping him/her on her mind.
Then possibly the "wrecking ball" comment is further saying how much that person affects her ( in positive ways ) taking down her natural barriers and affecting how she thinks and feels.

To me much of this is pretty ambiguous... I can't help but feel it's beautiful no matter what it truly means. So much of Brandi's songs are so subtle. I'm always in awe of her. And this is coming from a former metal head!

Well I'm not sure if it's a religious thing or a cheer up song to a distressed love interest, but my favorite line is "While you were looking for a landslide, I was looking out for you"
Stevie Nicks-- The reflection on the snow covered hill until the landslide comes and erases you. While this person was looking for their own reflection and attempting self-preservation, Brandi (or whomever) was looking out for them.
