You're directing me.
Your eyes focused like a microscope.
Get the cuts you need.
Eyes focused like a micro-scope.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a teen.
I get talking like a teen.
You're directing me.
You're dressed up. I lose my grip, my focus.
Make those eyes at me.
I lose my grip, I lose my focus.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a teen.
I get talking like a teen.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a teen.
I get talking like a teen.
You're directing me. (Hold on to me)
Your eyes focused like a microscope.
Get the cuts you need. (Hold on to me)
Eyes focused like a microscope.
You're directing me. (Hold on to me)
You're dressed up I lose my grip, my focus.
Make those eyes at me. (Hold on to me)
I lose my grip, I lose my focus.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I

I get talking like a teen

for me it's about someone asking the other person to accept them as they are, even if their relationship is imperfect.
eyes focus like a microscope." It reaches a point where one person gets fed up and they start to argue but then the person directing them makes those eyes and you just forgive them all over again and forget what you were mad at in the first place."you're directing me, you're dressed up, I lose my grip, my focus
make those eyes at me I lose my grip, I lose my focus"
But despite how much she tries to change for this person and become a version of what they want, she's still who she is. She'll still talk the way she always has, whether the person likes it or not because she just can't help who she is and she hopes that person will still love her even for all her childish ways. "I get talking like a teen (hold onto me) go steady with me? I know it turns you off when I (hold onto me)I get talking like a teen." At least that's what I hear and see.
"Make those eyes at me. (Hold on to me)
I lose my grip, I lose my focus."
This person also seems to be using you, and isnt as commited as you are
"Get the cuts you need" They have fun for a while and leave when they're satisfied
even though you would like things to change "go steady with me"
Aside from the teen thing, i think that turns the person off plain and simple.
"Go steady with me" is thus not the teen way of proposing someone but the preferred, 18th century one ;) I think it is so cute.
i always saw it as sara, or whoever the character may be, sort of just asking the other person to maybe give them a little break, be gentle, take it easy on them, so to speak.
i realize that the word structure fits better, and the predominant view does make more sense, but i still hear it the way i hear it, and it seems to have more levels of meaning for me this way.
You're directing me.
Your eyes focused like a microscope.
Get the cuts you need.
Eyes focused like a micro-scope.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a team.
I get talking like a team.
You're directing me.
You're dressed up. I lose my grip, my focus.
Make those eyes at me.
I lose my grip, I lose my focus.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a team.
I get talking like a team.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a team.
I get talking like a team.
You're directing me. (Hold on to me)
Your eyes focused like a microscope.
Get the cuts you need. (Hold on to me)
Eyes focused like a microscope.
You're directing me. (Hold on to me)
You're dressed up I lose my grip, my focus.
Make those eyes at me. (Hold on to me)
I lose my grip, I lose my focus.
Go steady with me.
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a team.
I get talking like a team...
every single person i know has been quoting it "i know it turns you off when i get talking like a teen...go steady with me."
it makes complete sense. team...doesn't? no offense. they're 29. talking like a teen like "go steady with me?"
and anyways. t&s always include the lyrics. that's their main thing anyways.
teen makes more sense in accordance to the song, plus i like it better and i don't think sara would sing about talking like a team. it doesn't really make sense and it's not in the vein of the album, or their music.
