She fell to the bottom of her life
This wasn't meant for her too
She struggles to find herself in time
But she can barely move
Just try and get up
You've gotta slowly brush off
I know that words aren't enough
But you're better than this

Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away
Torn apart
Never getting what you've been crying for
It's always the same

She turns the pages everyday
Just to change the mood
But every chapter reads the same
So hard to make it through
Just try and get up
You've gotta slowly brush off
I know that words aren't enough
But you're better than this

Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away
Torn apart
Never getting what you've been crying for
It's always the same

And you give
And they take
And it's love that you want
But not love that you make
Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away

Save your heart
For someone who leaves you breathless
And I know that you're scared
Seems like someone said you had it in you
All along you said you knew this was wrong
But still worth dying for

Save your heart
For someone who leaves you breathless
And I know that you're scared
Seems like someone said you had it in you
All along you said you knew this was wrong
But still worth dying for

And you give (and you give)
And they take (and they take)
And it's love that you want,
But not love that you make

Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away
Don't give it away

My Interpretation:its about someone warning a girl not to give her heart away to the first boy she sees or she might regret it

General Comment:to be honest i know this song is about love, but i think its referring to sex also. "it's love that you want, but not love that you make." it means that since she didn't save her heart, it's just sex, you only call it making love when both people are truly in love. and also another thing, today, everyone tells kids to wait until they've met "the one" to have sex. the "save your heart" is obviously about saving yourself for that special person because if you've slept around with many people, you cant give your heart (virginity) to "the one". and in the beginning when it says she fell to the bottom of her life and that she's above it, maybe it's referring to how the girl may have turned to prostitution and how its the lowest point of her life and he's telling her she was better than that but something caused her to be that way. however he tells her that he has faith that she'll get her life back on track. I don't know but it's just something i thought the song could mean but who really knows? and it was an amazing track.one of my favorites for sure:)

General Comment:This song is nearly my anthem when it comes to how I feel sometimes. The meaning can of course vary from person to person but I think most people can say that the meaning is pretty obvious.

A girl wants to have true love more than anything. As life happens to her, new guys keep coming her way, and each time a new guy comes around, because she's young, her heart is so resilient that she thinks that maybe this time, this guy is the right one. When in the end, every single guy ends up not caring or loving her, and it ends.

This song is encouragement to girls to wait for the right guy. To wait for the guy, that who you might push away, will still come running after you, because he can't live without you. Wait for the person who find you love so much you'd die for him, and he'd die for you.

    Where he says,

Seems like someone said you had it in you
    (Are you scared?)
All along, you said you knew this was wrong
    But still worth dying for

I think that means that all along in each relationship she knew in the back of her head that it was wrong. But she felt it was worth dying for because it's all she had. But in reality, she should wait for the person that REALLY IS worth dying for, who loves her just as much.

I also think this song is a means of encouragment not to give their bodies away to lots of guys wh odon't really love them. Aka, not to have sex with guys who don't really love you or want to stay with you.

Song Meaning:this song really reminds me of one of my best friends... i was basically the first person she ever dated, and this was almost 2 years ago. she fell in love with me, and she still is in love with me and it sucks...
but anyway. since the last time we dated (we tried multiple times) she's tried to date all the wrong people and they never go well. she thinks she falls for the people right after they start dating, and it's terrible for her. she always ends up getting heartbroken, and none of her relationships since me have lasted more that a couple weeks.
she recently got dumped, a few weeks ago, and as always she was feeling very desperate and lonely. she put on her myyearbook page, "all i want is for a pretty girl to love me" and would keep complaining about being single. she seems to have this mindset that she needs to have a girlfriend to be happy, when i know that's not the case.
seeing her like this killed me. one day when i was listening to mayday parade, this song came on and i was like, "wow, this song is definitely jessica." so i showed it to her, and for once, she's actually happy being single.

General Comment:Okay, so I think that this song is about a girl who recently had her heart broken.

"She fell to the bottom of her life This wasn't meant for two She struggles to find herself in time But she can barely move"-She's trying to move on and find out who she is without the person who broke her heart but she doesn't have the strength.

"Just try to get up You gotta slowly brush off I know that words aren't enough But you're better than this"-The narrator is telling her that she has to move on. He knows that his words don't make it any easier, but she's not as helpless as she's acting.

"Save your heart For someone that's worth dying for Don't give it away ...Never getting what you've been crying for It's always the same"-He's saying that she needs to save her love for someone that deserves it. She never gets the love that she wants so badly, it happens to her all the time.

"She turns the pages every day Just to change the mood But every chapter reads the same It's so hard to make it through"-This is my favorite part of the song because ive been through this many times. She lives life day to day, hoping things will get better on their own. But in the long run, nothing changes, she's still heartbroken.

General Comment:To me I think this song is about a girl who lets guys push her about…perhaps she’s a victim of domestic abuse or something but when people try to help her she denies it and says she’s in ‘love’ to try and hide her true feelings or fool herself into thinking that’s how relationships are meant to be. The narrator is trying to help her realise that what’s she’s doing that she shouldn’t just ‘give give her heart away’ to anyone or nothing will be left to give when she really does find someone to love who’ll love her back.
My favourite line is; "And its love that you want but not love that you make." I think this line is referring to the girl’s sexual relationship with the guy. He wants the relationship for sex but she wants the relationship to be able to care and hold someone and for that person to do the same back.
“Just try to get up, you've gotta slowly brush off. I know that words aren't enough, but you're better than this” I think this is saying that the girl tries to recover from the bad relationships and tries to move on but keeps making the same mistake. Other people are telling her that she could do better but she doesn’t believe them.
That’s what I think about the song XD great song one I can totally relate to its so beautiful. The words, the singer, the music…it all fits together beautifully.

My Interpretation:So I'm sorry this is crazily long. But this song means so much to me, and when I write about the meaning, I'm writing about myself as well.

To me, this song is about a girl who just falls for this guy really hard, and when it doesn't work it, she takes it out on herself, essentially hitting rock bottom alone "She fell to the bottom of her life, this wasn't meant for two." This girl had tried everything, even changing who she was to get this guy, but it didn't work and now "she struggles to find herself in time", maybe before she loses it (maybe from self-harm, or depression), maybe even killing herself. "But she can barely move", meaning the guy was harder to get over than she thought.

"Just try to get up, you've gotta slowly brush off. I know that words aren't enough, but you're better than this." This means the girl has to keep on trying (get up), and brush off the pain, even though she feels like she is worthless, and like there's no life after all that has happened.

"Save your heart, for someone that's worth dying for. Don't give it away". I find this part sort of a play on words of what this girl is feeling, because she feels like if she can't have him, she'll die. But he isn't worth death, because she doesn't deserve her heart because he hasn't done anything kind for her, but she gives her heart to him regardless.

The feeling of how much she is broken by all that has happened, and never gets what she's been crying for every night, and how the situation doesn't change, yet she doesn't give herself enough worth to walk away is shown in "Torn apart, never getting what you've been crying for, it's always the same."

"She turns the pages every day, just to change the mood." I believe that this part means she tries to change the mood of how he feels about her and forget the past and moving on (turning the pages), by going from always being there, to just not fitting effortlessly into the few empty spaces of his life where she'll get his attention, which keeps her hanging on.

However, her efforts often mean nothing at all, because the past just keeps repeating itself, sending her deeper into her depression, making each day harder to get through. "But every chapter reads the same, it's so hard to make it through."

"And you give, and they take." The girl gives out so much love, and the guy and other people take it, but they don't return it, making her feel so empty on the inside, like there's nothing left.

I had trouble with this part. "And it's love that you want, but not love that you make." To me, I find this means the girl wants true love, not a love that she has to fabricate herself and compensate for the love she isn't receiving.

"I know that you're scared, seems like someone said you had it in you." This girl fears failure, which could be why she refuses to let go, because someone (the guy) said she had love in her, and could do anything.

And yet this girl knows what she is doing to herself is wrong, and that the guy doesn't deserve her after everything she's given him that he's thrown away, but still believes in him regardless, because she irrationally thinks that he is worth it. "All along, you said you knew this was wrong, but still worth dying for."

And that's it. If you have any comments, I would be glad to hear them, because this is an amazing song.

General Comment:.. Such a beautiful song. The girl thinks she's found someone to give her heart to, but he's really not worth her love/time-- not worth dying for.

"And it's love that you want but not love that you make."
This is probably my favorite line in the song. She's hoping to be closer to him emotionally, but she can only get physically closer. She sees it as making love, he just sees it as sex.
