I don't want to let you go
But it hurts my hands to hold the rope
I won't be such an easy mark
You're no better then they say

And all the candles on the cake
All set fire to the gate
Turn the cannons towards the boat
Men were drowning in the moat
It was the end of all rowers oars

If you call then I'm coming to get you
If you call then I'm coming, now
If you call then I'm coming to get you
You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you

All I want's some earth and seed
But only grow the things I need
But first I must find my way back
And you go lay down on the track

At first I had an even keel
But now I'm not sure what is real.
It's taken me this long to learn
That every dead is ate by worms
And once they're gone they don't return

If you call then I'm coming to get you
If you call then I'm coming, now
If you call then I'm coming to get you
You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you

I'm coming to get you
If you call then I'm coming to get you
If you call then I'm coming to get you
You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you
Then the fire snuck into your bedroom
Now I'm falling asleep to forget you

How darkly the dark hand met his end
He was withered and boney, exposed for a phoney
But we heed the last words that he penned
Haste to disgrace the traitor. Do not wait til later
I don't think that you've got to pretend
I see God in birds and Satan in long words
But I know what you need in a friend
So now when I leave you, I hope I won't see you

How darkly the dark hand met his end
He was withered and boney, exposed for a phoney
But we heed the last words that he penned
Haste to disgrace the traitor. Do not wait til later

If you call then I'm coming to get you
If you call then I'm coming, now
If you call then I'm coming to get you
You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you
Well, I'm coming to get you
If you call then I'm coming, now
If you call then I'm coming to get you
You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you
Then the fire snuck into your bedroom
Now I'm falling asleep to forget you

General Comment:This sounds odd, but i think he says "you're no better at acting subtle" and seeing it written out it looks way longer than "than the sun" but he says it reaally fast and he smooshes "at acting". He definitely says subtle at the end though.

General Comment:"At dawn the fire snuck into your bedroom
Now I'm falling asleep to forget you"

This is remarkably similar to the lyrical themes in 'Bed'

"My head is lit I don't ever wanna go to bed
    Your hair is on fire"

I'm starting to think this is a concept album, the same themes of fire, forests, and sleep are constantly recurring, listen to Noro in particular, seems to link all the songs together aswell as coming full cirlce to the hymn at the start of Vices

General Comment:You have to admit. This does sound similar to Beck's Soul of a man. Surely they aren't the same lyrics or song, but the influence is drawn.

Beat my bones against the wall
    Staring down an empty hall
Deep down in a hollow log
Coming home like a letter bomb

    Cold was the storm
    That covered the night

Call a doctor, call a ghost
Put a fire into your bones
Sic a dog on all you know
Cut it loose before you go

    Cold was the storm
    That covered the night

    What makes the soul,
    the soul of a man?

Beat my bones against the wall
Put a bank note on your bond
    Gris Gris and goldenrod
Down deep in a hollow log

    Cold was the storm
    That buried the night

    What makes the soul,
    The soul of a man?

General Comment:The "I see God in birds and Satan in long words" line could refer to the fact that he sees God as evident through natural, complex things like birds but sees Satan when studying sciences or philosophies.

General Comment:Part of the bridge is totally a Harry Potter reference.

"How darkly the dark hand met his end"

This section details that Jesse is referring to the hand that The Dark Lord fashioned for Wormtail after he sacrificed his hand to enable Voldemort's rebirth.

"He was withered and bony, exposed for a phoney"

Numerous Harry Potter books tell us how haughty and 'withered' Wormtail looked whilst serving Voldemort as he did so out of fear, something that was physically taxing on his body. He was exposed for a phoney as Voldemort's 'gift' to Wormtail was designed to strangle its owner if any signs of treason or weakness is shown,

"But we heed the last words that he penned "Haste to disgrace the traitor do not wait 'til later""

Pretty self explanatory, as soon as Wormtail betrays Voldemort his hand should 'pen' his death.

There you have it folks, Sink is 100% about Harry Potter.

General Comment:"All I want's some earth and seed
To only grow the things I need" from this and
"trying to get the seeds into the cold ground,
it takes some time to grow anything" from sowing season...

i think its just the idea of becoming anything or anyone you want to be takes time and is usually meant with resistance...whether it be from the general flow of the masses or from within...simplifying shit down the the bare necessities is hard...its very hard to go back once you have had something (either ideologically ((which is a word, although it is rough to pronounce)) or materialistically)...but i commend brand new for reassuring people to do it

General Comment:I believe this song is about a struggle with religion.. How he wants to hold onto it but it's hard (first couple of lines).. As a child, one is innocent, unknowing, and doesn't question religion through lack of knowledge and experience (even keel at youth).. However when one grows through the years (candles on the cake) and experiences life, they naturally question their religion rather it be through tragedy, hypocrites, or knowledge. These experiences create conflict with your religion ("set fire to the gate").
Another aspect I see in the song, is where he is trying to open the eyes of the blind religious person that doesn't question their religion even though their are contradictions.. The chorus where he wants to save them/or a significant person, but he will only save them if they want to be saved.. (I can see God saying that part as well..)
In the bridge, even with the flawed religion, they still follow the word and totally disgrace anyone who opposes any aspect of their religion.. he knows there is Satan and God, he sees them both (long words/ birds or verbs).. But he also knows that their is contradictions and he wants the blind to see that.. However, they wont change and even though they mean so much to him, he is forced and hopes to forget them.. unless they call.

This is just how it personally reaches and relates to me.. thanks.

All I want's some earth and sea
to only grow the things I need
But first I must find my way back
as you go late out on the tracks!

In youth I had an even keel

If you call, then I'm coming to get you
You want to sink, so I'm going to let you
Drown the fire snuck into your bedroom
Now I'm falling asleep to forget you

How darkly the dark hand met his end
