Lyrics for Looking Up as interpreted by thoseguiltyeyes

Looking Up Lyrics
Things are looking up
Oh, finally
I thought I'd never see the day
When you'd smile at me

We always pull through
Oh, when we try
I'm always wrong
But you're never right
Oh, you're never right

Honestly, can you believe
We crossed the world while it's asleep?
I'd never trade it in
'Cause I've always wanted this and
It's not a dream anymore, no
It's not a dream anymore
It's worth fighting for

Could have given up so easily
I was a few cheap shots away
From the end of me

Taken for granted
Almost everything
That I would have died for
Just yesterday
Just yesterday

Honestly, can you believe
We crossed the world while it's asleep?
I'd never trade it in
'Cause I've always wanted this and
It's not a dream anymore, no
It's not a dream anymore
It's worth fighting for

God knows the world doesn't need another band
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
But what a waste it would've been
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
I can't believe we almost hung it up
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
We're just getting started
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh, oh

Honestly, can you believe
We crossed the world while it's asleep?
I'd never trade it in
'Cause I've always wanted this and
It's not a dream anymore, no
It's not a dream anymore, no, oh
It's not a dream anymore, no, oh
It's not a dream anymore
It's worth fighting for

I can't believe we almost hung it up
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
We're just getting started
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
I can't believe we almost hung it up
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
We're just getting started
Yeah, we're just getting started

honestly, I don't know what I would've done if Paramore called it quits.
I hope they really get recognized with this new album.
They never get enough credit for creating such beautiful music,
and not to mention giving amazing live performances!

Listening to a song like this just brings a smile on your face. Not only is it a true story but there's a lot of hope and triumph, you can just HEAR it.

This is word by word out of Hayley William's song lyric journal. This is the meaning she wrote for this song.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last year when we canceled our "U.K Riot" tour and went home. I didn't know if we'd even get back on the road. I sort of thought we'd run our course and it was over. All because of failed relationships...friendships. We stopped caring about each other. I started playing music for a living instead of living for playing music. I also reached outside my circle of friends (the band) for acceptance and the hope I could find people to really relate to. I needed real friends-not forced ones. That's when it became really hard. NO one understand each other anymore. Somehow between then and now, we've grown up a little bit. I've realized it's not bad that I'm an individual. We all have our own thing and now that we got it, "I can't beleive we almost hung it up, we're just getting started"

I like this one too. Paramore just has so much energy in all their music. Kids need something to sing along with. I'm glad they didn't break up too.

I think that the "double ending" is in itself symbolic. When the first ending hits, it's like "Oh, the songs over that was good" and you have a second to pause and think about the song. How they almost quit. That first ending IS the part when Paramore was about to call it quits. They took some time off, and then they came right back, stronger than ever, which would be represented by the second ending, where the song comes back in, and they have a nice little "hardcore" ending. The second ending is the "hardest" part of the song, which I think is symbolic of how they bounced back better than ever!
