We still live in the same town, well, don't we?
But I don't see you around anymore.
I go to all the same places, not even a trace of you.
Your days are numbered at twenty four.
And as I'm getting bored waiting 'round for you,
We're not getting any younger, and I
Won't look back 'cause there's no use
It's time to move forward!

[Chorus]
I feel no sympathy,
You live inside a cave!
You barely get by, the rest of us are trying,
There's no need to apologize,
I've got no time for feeling sorry!

Well I tried not to think of what might happen,
When your reality, it finally cuts through.
Well, as for me, I got out and I'm on the road.
The worst part is that this (this), this could be you.
You know it too, you can't run from your shame!
You're not getting any younger, time,
Keeps passing by, but you waited awake.
It's time to roll over!

[Chorus]

And all the best lies,
They are told with fingers tied!
So cross them tight,
Won't you promise me tonight
If it's the last thing you do, you'll get out

I feel no sympathy,
You live inside a cave.
You barely get by the rest of us,
You're trying, there's no need to apologize,
I've got no time, I've got no time!

I feel no sympathy,
You live inside a cave!
You barely get by the rest of us,
You're trying, there's no need to apologize,
Got no time!

I've got no time for feeling sorry!
I've got no time for feeling sorry!

My Interpretation:Everyone thinks it's about a former band member (mostly Hunter), but it COULD be about an ex who broke up with her. If you broke up with a girl and then she became famous like Hayley you'd try avoid her all the time. I think its about Hayley wanting to still be friends but he 'lives inside a cave' and just stays away from her. I don't think it would be about Hunter because of the line(s)
The worst part is that this (this), this could be you.
You know it too, you can't run from your shame
That sounds too harsh since Hunter (and Jason) remained on good terms.
It could instead be refer to the fact that it could be him with her if he hadn't of left. Well that's my two cents, if anyone even comes around her to hear it.

Memory:This song makes me think about my brother, expecialy "But I try not to think of what might happen
When your reality, it finally cuts through." and "And all the best lies
They are told with fingers tight
    So cross them tight
    Won't you promise me tonight
If it's the last thing you do, you'll get out?"
I wish he would just realize he is way to selfish for his own good.

General Comment:cue cliched comment about an ex but mine is avoiding me hardcore at the moment, he screwed up a few things and doesn't really want to deal with them so he just refuses to speak to me. i sort of viewed it like that. all the talk of living in a cave or cage or whatever it was decided it was, and how this guy is kind of trapped by his guilt and avoidance issues and stuff. i hear that she tried, she wants him to be freed from everything but there's not a lot she can do or say so she "won't look back, 'cause there's no use", she'll move on with her life and hope that he grows up a little and can life his to the fullest too, in due time. this is an entirely personal interpretation but that's just how i see it.

General Comment:to me, and I'm probably wrong, it sounds like someone held on to what happened between them and Hayley and she's waiting for them to apologize but they're taking to long so she's just forgot about it and doesn't care anymore

"And I'm getting bored, waiting around for you
    We're not getting any younger
And I won't look back, 'cause there's no use
    It's time to move forward"

and she's already let go of her grudge towards this person or something

"Well, as for me, I got out and I'm on the road
The worst part is that this, this could be you

    And you know it, too
You can't run from your shame
    You're not getting any younger
    Time keeps passing by
    But you waited away
It's time to roll over" and

    "I feel no sympathy
    You live inside a cage
    You barely get by
The rest of us are trying
    There's no need to apologize
    Got no time
Got no time" No this part sounds like some former member is trying to apologize for leaving the band but she and the guys have already moved on and this person is stuck "inside a cage" because they waited to long and no one cares anymore.

General Comment:I'm pretty sure it's about Hunter or Jason, probably Hunter because it sounds like it didn't really end in good terms.

"We still live in the same town
    Well, don't we?
But I don't see you around anymore
I go to all the same places
Not even a trace of you"

Maybe after he left the band, they still had the intentions of staying friends, or he had lead onto it, and she kept that hope for a little while, but she's kind of given up on him now.

    "I feel no sympathy
    You live inside a cage
    You barely get by
The rest of us are trying
    There's no need to apologize
I've got no time for feeling sorry"

Maybe music was his dream, but he wasn't working out with the band and never attempted to fix his problems with them or get with another band. She's saying she knows she would be heart-broken if something like that happened to her, but he didn't even try, so what's the point of feeling sorry for him?

I don't know, that's how I see this song. But all of the good artists make their songs to where they can mean any number of things, so who knows?
