Lyrics for Good Gone Girl as interpreted by hash420

Good Gone Girl Lyrics
Could you believe
The same old story
Yeah it haunts me, though I've heard it all before

Her name was Georgia
And she was gorgeous
When she adored ya
the whole room would get to know

Should have gone straight to the mass
Danced with the devil to the last
Play the wounded soldier
In a rush just to get to know ya

Hanging out in the fancy bars
With the boys who play guitar
Though that I had to warn ya
She's gonna make it out in California

Hey you, what's a good girl like you doing in this brutal world?
Well it's good gone girl
Dance, dance to the life you wanted
You were not 17
With a good girl dream

Ooooooooo
Good gone girl

Would you believe the same old phonies
Those painted ponies
That you've ridden all before
Her name was April
But she was hateful
Enough to make you want to run right out the door

Is it really what you want the most
Life with a champagne toast
When the end of the night gets tricky
Don't you know that beggars can't be picky

Lookin' out for a man who's golden
Doesn't matter if his wallet is rollin'
Coming at you like a desperate hunter
Sugar daddy but he's just a munter

Hey you, what's a good girl like you doing in this shimmering world?
Well it's good gone girl
Dance, dance to the life you wanted
When you were 17
With a good girl dream

Hey you, what's a good girl like you doing in this shimmering world?
Well it's good gone girl
Dance, dance to the life you wanted
You were not 17
With a good girl dream

Ooooooooo
Good gone girl

Ooooooooo
Good gone girl

Ooooooooo
Good gone girl

She's walking around all over the town,
needs somebody to notice but her goodness gets her down.
She's had to choose somebody to use,
Good gone girl she's got nothing left to lose.

She's walking around all over the town,
needs somebody to notice but her goodness gets her down.
She's had to choose somebody to use,
Good gone girl she's got nothing left to lose.

This probably isn't completely accurate, but this is how I view the song.

Starts out with a girl named Georgia. Lives in a presumably small town where everyone loves her; she's sweet, beautiful, and talented. People there have no doubt that she'll move to California and become famous. So she does. [This is where my interpretation becomes false; I don't know if April is supposed to be another person, but I like it this way, haha] She changes her name to April and, while she's in California, her success leads to her corruption. She's living a completely fake life and when she loses her fame, she has nothing left. She had been relying on her money and fame and now that that's gone, she'll settle for whatever [and whoever] she can get. All she wants is to be able to go back to when she was young, innocent, and had the hope of a great life ahead of her.

Has anyone else noticed that the girl's name in the beginning is April, and in the song Toy Boy, the main character of the song is left in Georgia? I don't know, i just thought that was interesting.

First off, these lyrics are completely wrong. According to the album insert:

Could you believe, the same old story
Yeah, it never bores me, though I've heard it all before
Her name was Georgia, and she was gorgeous
When she adored ya the whole room would get to know

Like a movie that was filled with lust
Coming at you with a double D bust
At the bed of a wounded soldier
In a rush cause she's getting older

Hanging out in the fancy bars
With the boys who can play guitar
Listen up, cause I've got to warn ya
She's gonna make it out in California

Hey you, what's a good girl like you
Doing in this crazy world
Where's the good gone girl
Dance, dance to the life you wanted
When you were only seventeen
With your good girl dream

Ooooo....good gone girl

Could you believe, the same old phonies
Those painted ponies, that you've ridden all before
Her name was April, but she was hateful
Enough to make you want to run right out the door

I can tell you what you want the most
Hanging out for the champagne toast
When the end of the night gets tricky
Don't you know that beggars can't be picky
Looking out for a man who's golden
Doesn't matter if he's old, he's rolling
Coming at you like a desperate hunter
Sugar daddy, he's just a munter

Hey you, what's a good girl like you
Doing in this crazy world
Where's the good gone girl
Dance, dance to the life you wanted
When you were only seventeen
With your good girl dream

Ooooo....good gone girl
(x7

She's walking around all over town
Needs somebody to notice, but the goodness gets her down
She's happy to choose somebody to use
Good gone girl she's got nothing left to loose
(x3)

I think this is about a nice girl who moves out to California in hopes of becoming a star, but she fails and turns into a gold digger type.
