  My Interpretation:The song opens up with him beginning to understand what is going on in his life. If I could change how he is then he would stop doing what he is doing. He cannot chance having “you” be in love with him and that it would be very easy for him to just move on without “you”. “Why cant I realize I’m fighting for my life” not his actual life but is fighting for control of his feelings. The music then goes on to a very upbeat and busy sounding almost dreamlike. When a female voice chimes in with “this is like a flash back, this is like a dream” he is dreaming of her while he goes about his life and his music and she continues saying that this is all you can fit in your memory. Meaning that it shouldn’t be difficult for him to forget but he his having trouble moving on.

  General Comment:You know how they say when a person dies (or has a near death experience) their lives flash before their eyes?
  
  This song is about an internal struggle going on in a person's head about a relationship that is about to die. His "vision is so clear" yet he "would disappear", the love he gets he "can't chance" yet he "could let it slip" contradict so he's confused about what to do. He wouldn't need to change his state of mind if his vision was actually clear.
  
  After the first stanza the song picks up in speed and is mostly a repeating of the world flashback. This is the point of no return (as if walking towards the white light). As all his memorizes pass before his eyes, he realizes that he does love this person, this person is his world. At that point he's trying to wake himself and snap out of it, telling himself not to let it die.

  General Comment:This song is about Calvin Harris having regrets about how he lives his life. If he's not at home alone he is out clubbing/performing and getting extremely intoxicated. All that is exciting and noteworthy happens when he is intoxicated and he can barely remember much of it. So when he is looking back on his life over the last few years it feels like nothing much has happened at all. A measure of life is the memories you have of its experiences. Not having many memories is not having much of a life.
  
  "I'm coming round and now my vision is so clear
  If I could change my state of mind then I would dissappear"
  - Sobering up and back in his own head space. Realizes that he becomes a different person when intoxicated.
  
  "The love I get from you is something I can't chance
  And I could let you slip away without a second glance"
  
  A - This could mean that he is targeting his fondness for intoxicants and is prepaired to go sober so that he can retain more memories of his life.
  
  B - Or it could be refering to random pick ups he encounters during the nights and is thinking that he can't deal with the other persons over affections and she would surely fade into the background of his hung over memories never not to be recognised again.
  
  "Why can't I realise Im fighting for my life?"
  - He knows that his lifestyle is not very productive yet he still parties all night and is way too hung over and tired to get up and do anything during the day.
  
  "This is like a flashback
  This is like a dream
  This is like all the things you can fit inside a memory"
  - Trying to remember the night before but realizes that its like trying to remember the last dream you had. How can so much happen and still not leave an impression?

    I heard an interview with Calvin where he said he didn't drink
    
    so maybe he gave up the piss as a result of the experiences you are talking about
