I see this song as a song telling you to never give up, to keep riding through the storm! Pain is part of life, if you don't feel pain then you can't be winning! No pain, no gain! We will learn from the pain! One minute you will feel good, and the next second something of someone will bring you down (the smack down). The chorus to me says that the singer isn't saying there won't be a longer road, one that makes you question giving up! Don't give up, and your heart will know what to do!
