You should be wilder, you're no fun at all
Yeah, thanks for the input
Thanks for the call

With dull knives and white hands
The blood of a stone
Cold to the touch, right
Right down the bone

But you give me the electric twist and it kicks like kicks like a pony
And true, you might get away with it
It's a risk, it's a risk yeah

Picked from a hot grove, packaged for sale
It drips down the sleeve
Gets under your nails
A loss of the senses
A chip off a tooth
The smells of the city
They ride in your suit

He says don't think don't talk
Don't think
Don't think don't talk
Don't think
Don't think don't talk
But I don't think I want to

'Cause you give me the electric twist and it kicks and it kicks like a pony
And true, you might run away with it, it's a risk it's a risk yeah
Because it kicks yeah
It really kicks yeah

And the touch of your lips it's a shock not a kiss
It's electric twist, it's electric twist

And the touch of your lips it's a shock not a kiss
It's electric twist, it's electric twist

And the touch of your lips it's a shock not a kiss
It's electric twist, it's electric twist

And the touch of your lips it's a shock not a kiss
It's electric twist, it's electric twist

He says don't think don't talk Don't think
Don't think don't talk Don't think
Don't think don't talk
But I don't think I want to

'Cause you give me the electric twist and it kicks and it kicks yeah

And true, let ya get away with it, it's a risk it's a risk yeah

You might get away with it
It's a risk yeah
But it kicks yeah
It really kicks yeah

    maybe.

i think it's about being with someone that brings about your wilder, more carefree side in a relationship versus all the relationships that came before it, which are now considered monotonous and dull.

he's telling her to let go of that boring, processed way of being with someone, and to take it as it comes and just go with everything ("don't think, don't talk").

and she's saying how he might get away with it, and even though he's making her feel good, ultimately their relationship might not last, but she's okay with that, accepting that it's part of love ("it's a risk, it's a risk, yeah").

a song about being with someone who's not like the others. someone who changes your way of viewing love and dating, and it feels good. it's a vibrant, crazy experience.

I think it's about a relationship with someone who she's got nothing in common with, but the physical side of things is good and exciting - "and the touch of your lips it's a shock not a kiss / it's electric twist" etc.

I've always thought this song is a metaphor for the record industry. Kind of like Sara Bareille's "Love Song". It's funny because this song is so different from her typical material.. more upbeat / "wild"..and the whole "don't think don't talk".. though she's okay with the change. "It's a risk, but is kicks." I don't know, just another way of looking at it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
