This will be your bleak dissolution
I will rid the world of your filth
And I will scourge you with no remorse

I will abolish all the pain you've caused
By your pillage of the innocent
Your horrid fate will not be quick
Grisly horrors will fall upon you

I will make your insides
On the fucking outside
I'll tear through your skin
And watch you rot

So where's your pleasure now?
It's not so pleasing when you are the one
At the end of this misery

Oh but it is for me to sit
And watch you bleed
So say your final prayer
But I'll promise you

God can't show you where to hide

    Song Meaning

The actual meaning the band has confirmed on their myspace is that the song is about killing a rapist. Rapists are bad, M'kay?

By the lyrics, I've interpreted that its about a guy, killing a skank girlfriend for cheating on him. Her name is Cheyene Stokes.

HOLY SHIT! I personally thought it was a typical kill a slut song. But after you siad that, i read the lyrics again and thought, that is the most badass fucking song ever. I actually liked the remake of this song, but liked the older version of recreant. weird huh?

Also Cheyne stokes is when you start breathing slower and slower until you stop then start again and repeat the sequence. Idk how that ties into this though

Cheyne Stokes is a breathing pattern as stated before. It is increasingly rapid breathing that slows, stops, and then speeds up again. The song itself follows this pattern. There are sections of the song that slow down and have no lyrics, then the song speeds up again and the vocals kick back in.

Cheyne strokes: Cheyne–Stokes respiration is an abnormal pattern of breathing characterized by progressively deeper, and sometimes faster, breathing followed by a gradual decrease that results in a temporary stop in breathing called an apnea.

It seems be about killing a rapist and was confirmed by Chelsea Grin that it is.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
