A little early in spring, a bonfire ring

She's shivering alone

I bumped into you somehow

But you can wear

My duct-taped vest
It's a party best

It’s really all I own

Everything's changing now

And I am high like a star that's flying

Cassiopeia

Everything's changing now

She said it’s alright

She said no don't die alone
There's no goodbyes

Lightning comes and lightning goes

And it’s all the same to me
Let it in

Cuz I want you so

I can hardly breathe or release

Into one thousand pieces

I have broke into

Over you

The chain will soon be gone,

I keep burning on and on and on

If nothing else I am myself
That's all I have to give

Everything's changing now

Oh we could live like kings

If we take a risk

Or we could live in doubt

Everything's changing now
Oh now
Come on, come on

And lightning comes and lightning goes

And it’s all the same to me

Let it in

Cuz I want you so

I can hardly breathe or release

Into one thousand pieces

I have broke into

Over you

The chain will soon be gone,
And I keep burning on and on and on

And this, this is, this is the last time, it's the last time

And this, this is, this is your goodbye

And this, this is, this is the last time

And this, this is, this is your goodbye

Some girls will break you down

Just to see you come undone

Everything's changing now

Maybe you and I are cursed

Maybe you and I are one

And that's the universe

Around, around she drags you

Lightning comes and lightning goes

It’s all the same to me

Let it in

Cuz I want you so

I can hardly breathe or release

Into one thousand pieces

I have broke into

Over you

We'll snuff the flames at dawn,

I keep burning on and on and on
I really love you!

Did you get what you wanted?
Did you get what you wanted?
Did you get what you wanted?

Lyric Correction:I believe the third line is actually "I bumped and I knew somehow". Go give it a listen.

I also believe this song is about his first love. I have a theory that Bonfire, Thanks a Lot, Anything, 10 Days Late, Never Let You Go, Deep Inside of You, Another Life, The Background, Faster, Crystal Baller, Wake for Young Souls, God of Wine, and Blinded are all about the same woman, someone whose soul held hands with his for a while and for whom he still feels a great deal. I think he loved her through lots, that she had an odd childhood, maybe some mental illness and a couple addictions. this may be a reach, but I think she severed ties to protect him from herself and he wasn't altogether comfortable with that. I think they've seen each other a few times since and that each of those moments overflowed in him and songs were how he expressed something he wanted to nail down so badly. I think Stephan is bi-polar and when manic is inspired, feels omnipotent, and is on fire sexually. I'm certain he thinks of sex in terms of deep spiritual connection, and that every encounter he's had has not been without real meaning.

I'd like to think this song in particular describes his first meeting with the aforementioned lover, the one who meant most, the one who carried his child for a short time. Stephan, if you ever browse this kind of thing, you are strong and an inspiration. you make this world more real and more beautiful for a single mom who knows what love can be. (also sorry if I'm entirely wrong about the whole thing, lol.)

General Comment:I took this song to mean that he ran into someone that he used to care about a lot.
    "I bumped into you somehow"
At first he's excited to see her because she meant so much to him, but then he remembers that she hurt him last time he got close to her.
"And I am high like a star that's flying
"
It also seems that she needs/wants him to be there for her or to be there for him.
"She's shivering alone" "she said it's alright, she said no dont die alone"
Throughout the song there seems to be an obvious progression from being happy to see her to telling her goodbye because he doesn't want to get hurt again.
    "Into one thousand pieces
I have broke into
Over you The chain will soon be gone"
He's debating whether or not to get close to her, and decides that he won't.
"And this, this is, this is the last time And this, this is, this is your goodbye"
THe lighting references how quickly someone can enter a life and then leave it devastated. Because even though he loves her he knows that no good can come from them being together
"maybe you and I are cursed, maybe you and I are one"
Either way it's a fantastic song

General Comment:I am a huge fan of 3eb since they appeared...I just love everything they touch. The way he sings "
And I am high like a star that's flying
, Cassiopeia
" is just haunting and beautiful. Ursa Major has a different sound but it's just as great as their earlier stuff imo, just different. Bravo 3eb!

General Comment:I'm pretty sure this song is about running into an old girlfriend and, even though they still love each other, they know it would never work out between them. And he realizes nothing is permanent, not lighting, and not relationships. Everything is always changing. But he's gonna move on and "keep burning on and on".

General Comment:i think this song has a lot to do with change as a general concept. even though whatever stephen is going through may be painful, he keeps "burning on and on". to me that line speaks to the notion of picking yourself up after something traumatic and carrying on because that's what life is all about. also, the contrast between lightning and a bonfire seems intriguing to me- life can change as rapidly as a bolt of lightning, but they can also die down slowly with glimmers of the past like a bonfire. when stephen says "its all the same to me, let it in" i think the ultimate point is that change happens regardless whether it's instantaneous versus gradual, which is why he's come to terms with it by saying "its all the same to me". seems to me like same concept as david bowie's "changes", just a itty bit more subtle hahaha

General Comment:Honestly Ive gotta hand some major props to eobrien72. Beautiful interpretation man. Like.... Amazing. That being said I think it's a combination of his and ezup17. Like it's both. It's that struggle to tell someone and then once you do that struggle of letting them aft you've been hurt. Love this song, love this band.

General Comment:LOVE this song. It's about the way you can barely breath for love, the way somebody you love makes you feel, still loving somebody who broke you. And it's about being unsure where things will go, but just putting your faith in the universe, closing your eyes, not :living in doubt", and but just living out whatever happens next,

General Comment:Well I just saw them in concert, and Jenkins said that it's about trying to coax girl at a bonfire to have sex with him. I agree with what someone was saying about how women (or one night stands) come and go all of the time, yet this one girl could be special for some reason. It confuses me when he says that he "really loves" her... because drunken sex isn't love to me. Maybe he thought that he wanted a random hook-up, but it ended up meaning so much more to him? When he says "I really love you!", I picture a guy lying to a girl and exaggerating his "love" so that she'll fuck him, which makes me think he's an assole haha.
