  General Comment:Yeah, you're right: Rivers came up with the phrase "You are my baby tonight, and I'm your daddy" the night his daughter was born. Strange that he ended up turning it into, like you said, a song about being smitten.

    He may have come up with the phrase when he thought about his daughter, but if you listen to the whole song, from the very 1st line... he's talking about going out and seeing this awesome, intelligent, hot girl and falling for her. The line "You are my baby tonight, and I'm your daddy" is a reference to him calling the woman "baby" and the whole "Who's your daddy?" sexual type thing. I don't see anywhere in the song where it makes any reference to her being younger.

  Song Meaning:I heard somewhere that Rivers was inspired by his daughter Mia to write this song when she was in the hospital.
  I agree with ShadowLerche though. Seems to me he's talking about being smitten with a younger woman.

    It's not supposed to be creepy, but it is a sexual metaphor. You know, "Who's your Daddy?"
