Here we stand
Somewhere in between this moment and the end
Will we bend?
Or will we open up and take this whole thing in?

Everybody else is smiling and their smiles don't fade
And you don't even wonder why you just don't think that way

Maybe you and me got lost somewhere,
We can't move or we can't stay here
Well maybe we've just had enough,
Well maybe we ain't meant for this love
You and me tried everything
But still that mocking bird wont sing
Well man this life seems hard enough
Well maybe we ain't meant for this love

Take my hand
And I will lead you through the broken promise land
Yes I can, ah yes I can
I can be there when you need it,
I'll give it all till you can't feel it anymore

I don't wanna love you now,
If you'll just leave someday
I don't wanna turn around,
If you'll just walk away

Maybe you and me got lost somewhere,
We can't move or we can't stay here
Well maybe we've just had enough,
Well maybe we ain't meant for this love
You and me tried everything
But still that mocking bird wont sing
Well man this life seems hard enough
Well maybe we ain't meant for this love

Maybe you and me got lost somewhere,
We can't move or we can't stay here
Well maybe we've just had enough,
Well maybe we ain't meant for this love
You and me tried everything
But still that mocking bird wont sing
Well man this life seems hard enough
Well maybe we ain't meant for this love

Maybe we ain't meant for this love
Maybe we ain't meant for this love

I think this a personal song that Rob Thomas has written for his wife due to the fact that they have tried countless of times to have babies ever since she healed from her illness.

"Maybe you and me got lost somewhere, we can't move on we can't stay here well maybe we've just had enough, well maybe we aint meant for this love you and me tried everything but still that mocking bird wont sing well man this life seems hard enough well maybe we aint meant for this love".

yeah he has a kid from a previous relationship, but it must be real hard to want to share that with your wife and not be able to for whatever reasons.

i think this song is about being afraid of love. She won;t comitt, so he doesn't want to be the only one to fall. he's also commenting on how everybody else seems to be smiling, so he's trying to figure out why they can't be happy too

we can't move 'ON' and we can't stay here. I read in Rolling Stone(I'm pretty sure) how this song was about realizing there was about realizing the relationship was over. It said there was nothing happy about it despite it's rather hopeful beat. haha

this is just your average generic pop song about how relationships break down.

IF .. IF a 'good song' is one that everybody can apply their own interpretation to, then this is a pretty ordinary song lyric-wise. the music is great, and rob thomas is a legendary musician, but this really is just another everyday radio-friendly song. he's got infinitely better stuff than this.

oh, and lovemebreathless, just shut up and stop moping around about your boyfriend. there are billions of other people going through the same things, you'll get over it.

I don't think its necessarily a break up song.. It can be a song about trying to make it work but its talking about the doubts that one can have like the hard part of the relationship... 'I don't wanna love you now if you'll just leave someday, i don't wanna turn around if you'll just walk away." I think it has alot more to do with be scared to love and lose. but thats just me <3 (:

In “Mockingbird,” a couple decides that happiness comes in falling apart, not staying together. The up-tempo beat belies the fact that “there’s nothing happy about that one at all,” Thomas says. They got lost and they have nowhere to go, so they should just fall where they are and see what happens. They tried everything to be happy and none of it worked and they just feel stuck. They want to be together but everything is going against them. He wants to help her, but nature and everything else wants them to be apart. And they tried everything nut the Mockingbird won't sing.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
