I admit I miss seeing your face, babe
And being alone is starting to take its toll
I'm cold and it's getting old

I admit I should've made some changes
We were so smothered in love
We didn't have a chance to come up for air

What a waste, where did the time go?
Where did our minds go? I don't know
What's this place? Where did our home go?
We won't know, I don't know

Too much of anything is too much
And too much of love can be too much
We had too much time, too much us
So we fought like tomorrow was promised

Too much, too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
M-m-much, too much

I admit I'm still watching the days go by
And sleeping alone is starting to break me down
It's cold, but I should've known

I admit I made a few mistakes, babe
We were so caught up in love
We didn't have a chance to come up for air

What a waste, where did the time go?
Where did our minds go? I don't know
What's this place? Where did my heart go?
We'll never know, I'll never know

And too much of anything is too much
And too much of love can be too much
We had too much time, too much us
So we fought like tomorrow was promised

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
M-m-much, too much

I need to find a reason to feel
Like everything was meant to be let go
Take it slow 'cause I can't be on my own

Too much of anything is too much
(It's just too much)
Too much of love can be too much
(It's just too)

We had too much time, too much us
So we fought like tomorrow was promised

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
M-m-much, too much

My Interpretation:I was in a long distance relationship on and off for two years. It was suffocating and so heart breaking, but I loved him so much. I still do.

I admit I miss seeing your face, babe
And being alone is starting to take its toll
I'm cold and it's getting old

In these lines you miss the person, it's inevitable in a long distance relationship being without the person you love is hard and you just don't want to do it after a while.

    I admit I should've made some changes
We were so smothered in love
We didn't have a chance to come up for air

Sometimes I wondered if I should just change my plans and move to where he was. Everytime we talked to each other all we did was say how much we loved the other we didn't have a real life together.

What a waste, where did the time go?
Where did our minds go? I don't know
What's this place? Where did our home go?
    We won't know, I don't know

Because of that we weren't part of each others lives outside our relationship. All we did was think about when the next time we would be able to see each other we didn't care where it was. Sometimes it was days, and sometimes it was weeks before we saw each other again.

Too much of anything is too much
And too much of love can be too much
We had too much time, too much us
So we fought like tomorrow was promised

We talked to much on the phone, all we did when we were together is have sex, and we had no idea how much of a toll it was talking on our emotions.

Too much, too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
    M-m-much, too much

We broke up I couldn't do it anymore. I missed him too much, and I loved him too much to keep up this type of relationship when we were both so young.
I still miss him, I still talk to him once in a while, and I want the best for him. There was just no way I was willing to give up the type of happiness that I have always wanted and being in a long distance relationship was not the type of love that I wanted.

I admit I'm still watching the days go by
And sleeping alone is starting to break me down
    It's cold, but I should've known

I admit I made a few mistakes, babe
We were so caught up in love
We didn't have a chance to come up for air

What a waste, where did the time go?
Where did our minds go? I don't know
What's this place? Where did my heart go?
We'll never know, I'll never know

And too much of anything is too much
And too much of love can be too much
We had too much time, too much us
So we fought like tomorrow was promised

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
    M-m-much, too much

I need to find a reason to feel
Like everything was meant to be let go
Take it slow 'cause I can't be on my own

Too much of anything is too much
    (It's just too much)
Too much of love can be too much
    (It's just too)

We had too much time, too much us
So we fought like tomorrow was promised

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much

Too much, too much, too much
Too much, too much, too much
    M-m-much, too much

General Comment:I've only heard this song from the live DVD they released. and honestly, It's awesome!
I guess I'm not hearing all this auto tune stuff coz its live and he sings normally, but WOW great song. I do believe it wasnt written by them though. which is why its a huge step away from their usual stuff.

General Comment:Holly (Would You Turn Me On?):

"Too much of you is never enough."

    Too Much:
"Too much of anything is too much."

    lol, looks like someone finally learned a lesson, huh? (;

Alright, lyrical paradoxes aside, I'm sure many of us can agree that this isn't the greatest song they've ever produced, both lyrically and musically (although I'm sure there's at least one person who can and will differ) but it has grown on me. It's incredibly catchy, but it's also extremely irritating with the repetition that seems almost obsessive to me. Whether it was a joke or a simple song with the glory of autotune and other gizmos and gadgets to change the sound prevail over their album as a whole, or their sound all together, it's still the All Time Low we fell in love with. Just, y'know, changin' things up. I'm not going to say it's so amazing that everyone who hates it is a brainless, effin' person, but I'm not going to say that it sucked primate genitalia either.

Onwards, I do believe the lyrics speak for themselves. Clearly, it was a relationship that was going strong until one day, things started to fall apart. To me, it reminds me of when a couple moves in together and has to get used to their living habits and cope with their differences. Eventually, their little quirks clash until they're suffocating one another with several "tactics". Constant fighting, excessive stress, doing things to get back at one another, etc. until they have the sense to break it off. Now, he's saying that they didn't really try hard enough to fix the issue and just fought constantly because it was easier, but he realizes that letting her slip away was a horrible mistake and that he's trying to muster up the courage to get her back, even if it probably won't work. Not to mention that he has too much pride to try groveling for her, despite the pain he's going through without her. Eventually, her realizes he needs to suck it up and apologize for everything he made her go through. Life now became a chore, a dreary existence without having his partner to share it with and that while it sometimes seems like he doesn't understand what happened between them, he realizes that they smothered each other with their love for one another until it was nearly impossible to live with each other. Now, he feels like it's too late but he wants to apologize regardless and possibly start over. He feels as if even through all of this, it still wasn't good enough of a reason to split. They merely have too much of a past with each other, too many feelings for one another, that it may not have been worth throwing their relationship away because they weren't wanting to work it out.

Anywho, that's just my two cents.

General Comment:I don't see what's wrong with this song. I mean, sure, it's different from their usual style, but overall, it's a really good song. You can't expect your favourite band to spit out copies of the same stuff over and over again. You'd get bored, trust me. ATL are growing and changing as musicians. Live with it. I still think they're amazing.

General Comment:All Time Low are talented guys, but this is pure crap.

And don't go saying "oh, stop being a hater, a fan would love anything they do!" Because I'm a fan and I hate this SO FKIN MUCH! Personally, I don't think they are jumping on the Disney bandwagon, but maybe they're experimenting with new sound? OR this is a joke song, making fun of R&B/Pop just like Sticks, Stones, and Techno. Whatever this is, it's crap.

My Opinion:I hate when people think just because you hate on a song, it means you're not a fan. Being a fan doesn't mean loving everything a band does. I personally can't get over the amount of times they say too much. It makes me wanna scream "I get it. It's TOO MUCH!" But I like the rest of the cd, just not too keen on this one.

My Opinion:Has anyone considered that this song could simply be a literal joke? Maybe making fun of R&B or some music ATL thinks is crappy? The song is called "Too Much" and that line is repeated WAY too many times. Alex Gaskarth can write so much better than this, so why would he allow a song like this to be put onto their record--which is aptly titled "Nothing Personal", so as to not personally offend the genre/type of music that Too Much resembles?

I think it's totally possible that Too Much is written like a love story song of the R&B genre, but is making fun of that genre, or something along those lines. An R&B-styled song that is making fun of other types of music.

General Comment:personally i don't know what is wrong with you people. i love this song! maybe its just cause i can relate to it and when i listen to it the lyrics really hit me. i think the chorse is great especially when it says
"we had too much time, too much us. so we fought like tomorrow was promised" it talks about taking advantage of relationships and leaning on them to the point that they break. i do think that some of the parts are a bit over the top but over all i love this song and if you don't like it why bother commenting and wasting your time.

General Comment:I know i have commented on this song saying it was their worst but i have changed my mind a little.
I really like the melody but the lyrics are poorly written. I am an enormous fan of ATL (fave band) I heard this was written by The Dream, i dont really know who they are, but i heard they write hip hop songs, they really shouldn't have written a song for ATL and left Alex to use his skills on lyrics. Wow this was long, sorry! :)
