Hedley – Sweater Song

  My Interpretation:For me,this translates into something different than the actual meaning. To me, it's a bout a soldier going away to war, leaving his girlfriend/wife back home. He gives her his sweater and she gives him her shirt. "...I sweat a lot and smell of dirt..." Obviously you're going to sweat a lot in the desert in a war zone and you don't always have access to running water to shower. I don't know, maybe that's just me. :)

  General Comment:Apparently, on MuchMusic, Jacob Hoggard explained the meaning of the song, saying something like, "I wrote this song about this girl in Saskatchewan. She and I exchanged sweaters." He named the girl and her hometown. He wore her sweater on MTV Canada for their first interview about their most recent album.
  
  I know this, because I know the girl he wrote it about. My cousin just recently got engaged to her. Her and Jacob had a thing once, and he was going to choose her over the woman he married, but she refused. It's funny, because my cousin said when this song comes on, she gets mad and turns it off, as does her fiancee.

  My Interpretation:This song makes me think of my boyfriend. He just recently went to lackland texas for boot camp. He gave me his shirt and sweater to keep me warm because I live far away and its cold as hell here. I am going through a rouh patch without him here and without being able to be with him. This song has a happy ending to it and makes me realize its all ok and will be over soon. Half of the stuf he says that they say is exactly what we told each other or write to each other about. And when he calls i tell him i just mailed him a letter... God i miss that boy. But the point is that THis song makes me think of a boy leaving his girl behind for his job and saying that its all ok in the end yay!! :)

  My Opinion:I think this song is just adorable ahahaha and the last verse made me laugh :P the way he discribes the flirting that goes on between them reminds me of the way i talk to my girlfriend. also the guitar sets a bubbibly everything perfect kind of mood which adds to the cuteness of this song. that kind of talking makes eachother feel special. i think cheesy is good and it makes me feel on top of the world
