Lyrics for 7-9 Legendary as interpreted by auberginedreams09

7-9 Legendary Lyrics
i got that midnight tennis elbow
the solitaire rug burn
took a turn (an ace up my sleeve)
(so to speak)
i want to choke (you)
and get sick off of you like secondhand smoke
ya got me sweating like Calcutta nights
such a sweet epiphany
i am a wing
i am a prayer
a thimble and an acorn
a promise from a poor apocathary- to an understudy in love forlorn
ill give you heatstroke
i'm getting you and i'm losing me
wed get legendary lil darlin, uh huh lil darlin
but i've got a nomadic head
i love ya but i've caught the doom and the dread

I love this song to death, but I'm almost positive it says
"Took a turn, an ace up my sleeve (so to speak)"

I think the definite lyrics are:

I got the midnight tennis elbow
Got the solitaire rug burn
Took a turn, an ace up my sleeve
(so to speak)
I want to choke (you)
And get sick off of you like secondhand smoke
Got me sweating like Calcutta nights
Such a sweet end epiphany

I am a wing
I'm a prayer
A thimble and an acorn
A promise from a poor apothecary
To an understudy in love forlorn

I'll give you heatstroke
I'm getting you
and I'm losing me.

We'd get legendary
Tonight, little darlin', uh huh little darlin'
But I've got a nomadic head
I love ya' but I've caught the doom and the dread

We'd get legendary
Tonight, little darlin', uh huh little darlin'
But I've got a nomadic head
I love ya' but I caught the doom and dread

The "midnight tennis elbow, the solitaire rug burn".

It's a little obvious.
This song is somewhat about masturbation.

the thimble and acorn bit makes me think of peter pan, like the novel. peter and wendy exchanged a thimble and and acorn, if i remember correctly, and called them "kisses" because peter had no idea what a kiss was and wendy was shy.

apothecaries will always make me think of the apothecary from romeo and juliet, but i wonder if that doesn't work for this song -- it follows with "to an understudy in forlorn love," and understudy implies a play (which romeo and juliet is) and forlorn love is pretty much the entire premise of the play.

i like all of the literary allusions in this song! wish it had been more than a demo, honestly. it's bouncy and encompasses some amazing lyrics.
