Remember when I took you
Up to the top of the hill?
We had our knives drawn.
They were as sharp
As we were in love.
If god crossed us
We'd take all his drugs,
Burn his money
And his house down,
And wait for the fire to spread.

Sometimes hate is not enough
To turn this all to ashes.
Together as one
Against all others
Break all of our wings to
Make sure it crashes

[Chorus:]
We're running to the
Edge of the world
Running, running away
We're running to the edge of the world
I don't know if the world will end today

I had no choice,
I erased the debt of our family,
Let you say goodbye
With lips like dynamite.
And everyone
Turned their backs
Because they knew
When we held on tight
To each other,
We were something fatal,
That fell into the wrong hands.

Sometimes hate is not enough
To turn this all to ashes.
Together as one
Against all others
Break all of our wings to
Make sure it crashes

We're running to the
Edge of the world
Running, running away
We're running to the edge of the world
I don't know if the world will end today

We don't see death, we see destruction [Repeat: x2]

[Chorus]

See a new beginning rise behind the sun
We can't never catch up to them as fast as we run

General Comment:After seenig what Born Villain stands for, I think much of Marilyn's deppresion wasn't just due to his girls, but to the fans, just like FuckUserNames right here, saying that Marilyn Manson must be a brutal industrial metal band just burning Bibles and all that shit. Manson said that he got confused back in the times of Columbine murders because he was blamed for something he did not do, and that he was critisised for making harsh music because it was to harsh, but when he did less hevy songs he was critisised because his songs were not heavy enough :-/
Born Villain era is favolous not just due to the songs or the fact that Marilyn us wearing the Pope outfit once again, but for the meaning this tour has, a comeback of our hero, the Reverend of Fuck, Mr. Marilyn-motherfucking-Manson!

My Interpretation:"sometimes hate is not enough to turn this all to ashes"
This line makes me think he was really in love but suddenly something happened and all of that love turned into hate, but even all of that hate is not enough to make him forget about that girl... just there's no way he can forget about her, no matter how bad they ended up.

This is for me far the most touching MM's song, I feel this song specially sincere.

General Comment:This is unlike anything by Manson that I've heard. Its not to say the song is bad, because its not. I mean it in a good way. It's unbelievabley beautiful and moving, and people who don't see the beauty in this are idiots.

General Comment:Opinions on the content of this album and others aside...

When you consider that Trent Reznor produced a large portion of Manson's prior albums, wouldn't it follow that an album that was not touched by Reznor be the opposite of selling out? Or maybe not riding someone elses back to fame is selling out these days.

People really need to get new rhetoric when it comes to Manson. Copying some statement another person made when his previous album came out is getting very old.

General Comment:In that case.... I blame Dita and Evan. I just hate the sound of this whole album. It isn't manson. He has dulled down his edge so much. Of course he should write how he feels... but damn, this is just awful. It is not Manson...
He ingrained himself into a celebrity lifestyle. He used to be a rockstar, now he's trying to fit in with the hollywood folk.

General Comment:marilyn manson has stated b4 that he writes what he feels. so he is not selling out or changing. if he wrote songs like the fight song and IHA then he would be fake cuz nobody is angry all the time. we are jst seeing the other side of Mr.Manson and i praise him 4 it. GOOOOOOO MANSON!!!!! (=

General Comment:Goddammit, Manson forgot who he was... He is not some acoustic country singer... I hate parts of this album more than EMDM. At least in EMDM he wasnt fucking... this... Fucking compare this to Irresponsible Hate Anthem, or The Fight song, or even great big white world. This is fucking mainstream stuff you hear on the radio... At least Manson still kicks ass on stage... I guess...
