yeah,
i played dead, immersed
in that technicolour kind of black and white type,
counting one, two... seven through the roof
if my lady only knew how high i am,
i am tonight

i crack open the safe myself, nine,
fourty-five, twenty-two, june until september,
three months 'til december

the summer is over
and i doubt,
i doubt i'll be seeing you around.
"i'll be seeing you around."

'cause i ain't working for you anymore,
no, i ain't working for you anymore,
so go prove to the world what you
already proved
that you just couldn't do on your own.

let's have a talk about the good times
but you were always giving in
let's have a talk about the good times
boy, you were only giving in

the summer is over
and i doubt,
i doubt i'll be seeing you around.
"i'll be seeing you around."
the summer is over
and i doubt,
i doubt i'll be seeing you around.
"i'll be seeing you around."

let's have a talk about the good times
but you were always giving in
let's have a talk about the good times
boy, you were only giving in to...

the summer is over
and i doubt,
i doubt i'll be seeing you around.
"i'll be seeing you around."
the summer is over
and i doubt,
i doubt i'll be seeing you around.
"i'll be seeing you around."
the summer is over
and i doubt,
i doubt i'll be seeing you around.
"i'll be seeing you around."
the summer is over
and i doubt,
i doubt i'll be seeing you around.
"i'll be seeing you around."

General Comment:Fred or no Fred, TBS' lyrics are pretty much always written for two vocalists. It was like that before Fred was in the band and I doubt it's ever going to stop.

My Opinion:I don't mean to beat this topic to death but after reading through the lyrics and listening to how the song flows so many times this song is definitely about the departure of Fred. It's definitely given away in

"'cause i ain't working for you anymore,
no, i ain't working for you anymore,
so go prove to the world what you
    already proved
that you just couldn't do on your own."

Fred's proved to be all he can be as a guitarist in Taking Back Sunday and he wasn't anything until he joined the band.

Although the beauty of art allows us to interpret and reflect the song to relate to ourselves, so I still read the song like it's about a summer fling.

Song Meaning:Do the numbers "9, 45, 22" mean anything specific, or just randomly chosen to sound good?

My Opinion:hellloooooo why do u people have to relate everything taking back sunday writes to the departure of fred and john?????? its like you're traumatized because of it. and whats the point with those who just come in here to say "i hate this song" or whatever blah blah blah-if you hate the song so much then why are you even looking it up????

    General Comment:the lyric are wrong...

I played dead immersed in that Technicolor kind of black and white type
    Counting one, two..
    Seven thru the roof
If my lady only knew how high I am tonight
Man, I'd crack open that safe myself
    Nine, forty five, twenty two
    Nine, forty five, twenty two
    9, 45, 22
    June Until September
    Leaves three months till December
The summer is over and i doubt I'll be seeing you around
    "I'll be seeing you around"
    "Losing touch, hardly listening"
You hear me now you will
As you prove to the world
Lets see you show the world
What you already proved you just couldn't do on your own...
I aint working for you anymore...
Lets have a talk about the good times
About how you were "always giving in"
Lets have a talk about the good times
Boy, you were only giving into
    The Summer
Now its over and I doubt I'll be seeing you around
    "I'll be seeing you around"
For sure, "I'll be seeing you around"

    i know it seems weird
and doesnt really fit the song.
but that is how they are displayed in the booklet that came with the album.

General Comment:i think the "and i doubt i'll be seeing you around" might have two meanings. 1) fred won't be in the band so they won't be seeing him. 2) it says something about how he can't do it on his own so i think it might mean that his solo career won't go anywhere and that no one will see him around because he won't be famous or popular without taking back sunday.
