Give me attention
I need it now
Too much distance
To measure it out, out loud
Chasing patterns across a personal map
And making pictures where the line overlap
Where the lines overlap
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Call me over, and tell me how
Well you got so far
Never making a single sound
I'm not used to it
But I can learn
There's nothing to it
I've never been happier
Never been happier
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Now I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling
I've got a feeling
That you would sing it back to me
That you would sing it back to me
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one (no one) is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
I need it now
Too much distance
To measure it out, out loud
Chasing patterns across a personal map
And making pictures where the line overlap
Where the lines overlap
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Call me over, and tell me how
Well you got so far
Never making a single sound
I'm not used to it
But I can learn
There's nothing to it
I've never been happier
Never been happier
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Now I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling
I've got a feeling
That you would sing it back to me
That you would sing it back to me
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one (no one) is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us

"Tracing patterns across a personal map
And making pictures where the lines overlap"
kinda to me says that the line between friends and lovers has overlapped. and "no one is as lucky as us" kinda says other relationships will never have what we have since we started with a beautiful friendship.
also, "I'm not used to it but I can learn" supports it because shes not used to being in a relationship with him.
there is also the line, "Now I've got a feeling if I sang this loud enough, you would sing it back to me." that to me is her saying "heres how i feel about you, and i have a feeling you feel the same, so lets take it to the next level."
just a thought :)
"song is about long-distance relationship positive outlook. josh & i wrote this the same day we recorded it at rob's. so much fun this song will always bring the good vibes."
"Give me attention
I need it now
Too much distance
To measure it out, out loud"
here comes the uncertainty
"Tracing patterns
Across a personal map
And making pictures
Where the lines overlap"
figuring it out. lines overlapping is a metaphor for the intersection representing the start of their relationship. the relationship doesn't end at the intersection, but rather continues as distance between them grows.
"If I sang this loud enough
You would sing it back to me"
she's beginning to trust in them, trust that their love is strong
Tracing patterns
Across a personal map
And making pictures
Where the lines overlap
Where the lines overlap
She's filling in her 'map' of life with new possibilities.
Call me over
And tell me how
Well, you got so far
And never making a single sound
Talking about gigs?
I'm not used to it
But I can learn
There's nothing to it
I've never been happier
I've never been happier
She's talking about wanting to TRY the idea and being happy that she can!
Now I've got a feeling
If I sang this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling
If I sang this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling
(I've got a feeling)
That you would sing it back to me
That you would sing it back to me
Well lookie there! Songs and a band!! Ta da!!
I think this may be a song about when Paramore was an early, semi unknown band.
In addition, as individuals we all experience growths in our own personal lives and so I think the part where Paramore sings that we will sing it back to them means that we all feel we ARE there where we need to be in our own lives, cuz we all have something to sing about and in a sense sing back to them..."No onee is as lucky as ussss"
Just my take on it :) And Paramore rockkkssss, their energy and live performances speak for themselves..Hailey is an inspiration XD
From Careful to Turn It Off it basically tells of the struggles they have to overcome. Arguments, misunderstandings and stuff.
The Only Exception is a turning point for them.
Feeling Sorry to All I Wanted is the phase where they finally face their problems head on - to say what's been playing in their heads for so long, and solve it and leave it behind.
And this song to me sounds like she wants to highlight the growing distance between them. When the chorus hits, the writer is so.. relieved? Implying that it's a stroke of luck that they stick together, and actually made it to where they are now. To put it plainly, it's like, 'whoa, we actually stayed together and and guess what, we've won the battle! gosh, how lucky.'
The line 'I've got a feeling if I sang this loud enough, you would sing it back to me' is directed to fans, maybe an invite to celebrate the victory they gained by way of opening up, to be say what needs to be said, and just to let it go.. and hoping we can get what they have now by doing the same.
Probably a weird interpretation, but hell. :D
I doubt it was,
But maybe it was written in such a way that it wasn't confronting the actual topic and it was just so it was enough information, but you could think a little about it.
Personally, what I want to believe the song is about is;
a relationship that is as dillinthehood mentioned 'bitter sweet'
It has it's ups and downs but right now it has overcome so many things that the people involved kind of feel like they can overcome everything.
I think the song is about how
It can take a lot to get to a certain point in life or a relationship but once your at that point, nothing else matters. everything is okay, and it WILL be okay.
But that's my opinion.
