Oh, Florida, please be still tonight
Don't disturb this love of mine
Look how she's so serene
You've gotta help me out
And count the stars to form the lines
And find the words we'll sing in time
I wanna keep her dreaming
It's my one wish
I won't forget this
I'm outdated, overrated
Morning seems so far away
So I'll sing a melody
And hope to God she's listening
Sleeping softly while I sing
And I'll be your memories
Your lullaby for all the times
Hoping that my voice could get it right
If luck is on my side tonight
My clumsy tongue will make it right
And wrists that touch
It isn't much, but it's enough
To form imaginary lines
Forget your scars
We'll forget mine
The hours change so fast
Oh, God, please make this last
'Cause I'm outdated, overrated
Morning seems so far away
So I'll sing a melody
And hope to God she's listening
Sleeping softly while I sing
And I'll be your memories
Your lullaby for all the times
Hoping that my voice could get it right
Could get it right
You could crush me
Please don't crush me
'Cause, baby, I'm a dreamer for sure
And I won't let you down
I swear this time I mean it
And I'll sing a melody
And hope to God she's listening
Sleeping softly while I sing
And I'll be your memories
Your lullaby for all the times
Hoping that my voice could get it right
Don't disturb this love of mine
Look how she's so serene
You've gotta help me out
And count the stars to form the lines
And find the words we'll sing in time

LOVE IT! i <3 mayday and have for a long long long time. the lyrics are just so pure and simple and they cut right to your heart.
to me, the meaning is pretty simple. it's about a relationship that has kind of seen hard times, but they're back together, and he just wants to preserve it and keep it safe from going bad again. he says "i swear this time i mean it" because, finally, he really means that he loves her and wants things to stay good like they are right in that moment. awesome, AWESOME song.
favorite part: "you could crush me, please don't crush me, cause baby i'm a dreamer, for sure. and i won't let you down. i swear this time i mean it." <3
"If luck is on my side tonight
My clumsy tongue will make it right
And wrists that touch
It isn't much, but it's enough"
i know that this isn't what they lyrics actually are supposed to mean, but i interperate them that if i finally am brave enough to say how i feel about him, then things might just work out perfectly (:
anyway i LOVE this song.
put it on repeat for hours.
LOVE IT
She went to Florida cause she was looking for an escape. He's asking them to let her have some peace for just a night. He wants her to keep dreaming, to not give up. He feels he isn't worthy of her, so he's hiding his feelings from her. I agree with what ilovedereksanders said about morning [and i LOVE their username :D] He writes a song for her, and sings it at night. He wishes she could hear what he was saying in his song, what the words meant, that she knew she was the person he's talking about. Maybe he feels like he's just memories to her, when he wishes he was her present. Then, he's saying if he's lucky, he might get to talk to her. He's not asking to go too far with her, just simply having their wrists touch would be enough for him. He's asking her to forget the pain [that he's caused her?] and let him in. Time he has left with her is slipping away faster than he wants it to.She could break his heart but he's asking her not to. He says he's a dreamer because he believes she's "out of his league" (always hated that phrase) He's had chances with her before, but he never made a move. But he won't let her down now, he'll gather the guts to make his move.
*I'm not sure if this is completely right guys, let me know if I'm way off. One of the most beautiful songs ever, if I do say so :] Mayday Parade never lets me down ♫♥

The vocals are amazing. I just got the cd yesterday and this song is already my favorite. It's been on repeat. I almost cried when I first heard I Swear This Time I Mean It. It's such a beautiful song. <3
I love Mayday Parade. <33
My favorite part is "You could crush me, but please don't crush me. Cause baby, I'm a dreamer for sure"
That sounds like he knows that she could hurt him just like he hurt her but this time around he won't let her down.
"And wrists could touch
It isn't much
But it's enough"
