Dally used to come from me
Go on mister, get well
Daddy wasn't thinking that you're no good
Don't worry 'cause you're not the kind to kiss and tell
Dally and cherry trees
I don't recall them anyway
So long as no one here is gonna wear out
To which isn't the same
Look what you wasted
When the lights are coming out
And I come down in your room
Our daily compromise, it is
Written in your signed armistice
And when the lights are coming out
And I come down in your room
Well well the sign is always
Here is your signed armistice
It's time to fall, oh, not to heat it up
The question is plain as a propeller
In the middle of the course
When ambitions are low
Head on close, hang on before you lose control
We ought to go
And look how to rip it off
December for message on the lips
Some love is, no, it ain't gonna wear out
To which is all the same
One of us is wasted
When the lights are coming out
And I come down in your room
Our daily compromise, it is
Written in your signed armistice
And when the lights are coming out
And I come down in your room
Well well the sign is always
Here is your signed armistice
Fallin' out, he's in a rush, fallin' out, he's goin in, fallin out, he's in a rush
Keep your promises
Fallin' out, he's in a rush, fallin' out, he's goin in, fallin out he's in a rush
Fallin' out he's always,
Fallin' out, he's in a rush
Keep your promises
Fallin' out, he's in a rush,
Fallin' out, he's always...
Go on mister, get well
Daddy wasn't thinking that you're no good
Don't worry 'cause you're not the kind to kiss and tell

A promise to get well
That ain't workin', thinkin' that you're no good
Don't worry, 'cause I'm not the kind to kiss and tell
Dahlias and cherry trees
I don't recall them anyway
Some lovers know it ain't gonna wear out
To each his own the same
Look what you wasted
When the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Our daily compromise
It is written in your signed armistice
And when the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Well, we'll decide as always
Here is your signed armistice
It's time to follow, and not to heat it up
Requesting this plane is a propeller
In the middle of the course when ambitions are low
Head on close, hang on before you lose control
The octagon logo had to rip it up
The semaphore message on your lips
Some lovers know it ain't gonna wear out
To each his own the same
What else is wasted?
When the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Our daily compromise
It is written in your signed armistice
And when the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Well, we'll decide as always
Here is your signed armistice
For lovers in a rush, for lovers always
For lovers in a rush, keeping promises
For lovers in a rush, for lovers always
For lovers in a rush, for lovers always
For lovers in a rush, keeping promises
For lovers in a rush, for lovers always
Really has nothing to do with the meaning of the song.
I think I hear a '2' after hello world but you have to listen very carefully.
he doesnt say that
its just my brain..
im preety sure he is saying
"some lovers know it aint gonna wear out
two which is of the same"
which makes more sense and makes it an awsome line
im loving phoenix they are so great
im just now discovering wolfgang amadeus its
an awsome album except the two middle songs
but it really is classic .
but i like fetusfishs' interpretation.
this is an amazing song and phoenix is great!!!

A promise to get well
That ain't working thinking that you're no good
Don't worry 'cause I'm not the kind that kiss and tell
No dahlias and cherry trees
I don't recall them anyway
Some lovers know it ain't gonna wear out, to each his own the same
Look what you wasted
Dahlias are flowers that represent elegance but also a infinate commitment or bond. He tells her that he's gotten them for her because he want's to show that he's ready for a commited relationship. However she thinks she's "no good" which could mean she believes she isn't ready to commit because she doesn't trust herself to. "No Dahlias and cherry trees I don't recall them anyway," could be his response to her backing away from the commitment he offers. Cherry trees represent rebirth and death, but also commonly are asociated with romance. He may be agreeing that if she's uncomfortable with being romantic with him then they don't need to be. He's saying that although they've been LIKE they are in a committed relationship, if she doesn't want it then thats okay because at the end of the day they don't need to be "dating" to care for one another, they'll have their signed armistice - their agreement to love one another - but only at night when they're alone and the lights go out because if it's anything more it would be too ominous for her. "Some lovers know it aint' gonna wear out, to each his own the same." This might mean he knows that he's in love with her, and that it'll never wear away, but he also knows that she doensn't love him. Hence comes the "look what you've wasted" because he feels like she's dismissed the part of him that loves her. She's wasted the love he offers her.
But to me, the most adorable part when he said "don't worry cause I'm not the kind that kiss and tell" so amiably.
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart reference?
Doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. Infact the more I read these lyrics, the more I see possible signs of Joy Division influence.
"When the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Our daily compromise…"
Kind of reads in a very… Ian Curtis way, if you get me…
