Head on the wall
And my piss hardly makes the stall
And this time it's not an act
This time I swear it's fact

Now I ramble on
About that girl who's gone
And I tried teaching her guitar
Now she's standing at the bar

She tells me her favourite song
And I say: "Yeah, that's a good one"
She says it follows her around
No shit, it's by the Beatles

I'm so lost
And I live just around the corner
Well here's a thought
Yeah ??? ??? ???

Well I'm John Lennon
In six to seven
(x4)

??? in love again
And the good ??? wants to ???
Morgan's hearing none of it
She says we're doing it again

And the neighbourhood's up in arms
They're trying to shut down all the bars
When everyone's a private eye
They're hiding in the bushes every night

The cops square off in the street
The dogs go through the garbage
You wanna stay for the night tonight?
Well I know all about the tonic, honey

I'm so lost
And I live just around the corner
Well here's a thought
Yeah ??? ??? ???

Well I'm John Lennon
In six to seven
(x4)

Head on the wall
And my piss hardly makes the stall
And this time it's not an act.

I'm so lost
And I live just around the corner
Well here's a thought
Get ??? ??? ???

Well I'm John Lennon
In six to seven
(x4)

General Comment:It's not "six to seven", it's '67.
It seems like the song is about John Lennon from the Beatles, unless maybe they're making some type of analogy. Anyway, the song sounds like it's about John Lennon on drugs, and since his brain is all messed up from them, he can't use the bathroom properly or find his house even though it's right around the corner.

General Comment:His performance here in Hamilton literally breaks down the song, during the song: youtube.com/…

Song Meaning:And “John Lennon” isn’t about the Beatles, it’s about a guy walking around a student neighborhood in Hamilton and trying to make sense of it all, everything that’s going on around him. The analogy is to John Lennon in ’67 trying to find himself after breaking away from the Beatles and started getting involved in eastern philosophy, when he went through more of his experimental days. (Laughs) That’s what the joke is, but we’re big Beatles fans and it’s sort of a nerdy reference to that.

General Comment:Love this song, and this band. John Lennon's one of my favorites from them, I think.
